Took car in May to hemborg ford they replaced my brake bumper it was on recall. Took car back on August 3 of 2026 brake lights staying on. Had them recheck the recall again thought it might be that. I was told it was not the issue. I needed to change out brake switch and had to pay diagnostic fee so a total of just under 300. My brake lights stay on while driving my car and when we park the car. they had my car 3 days then picked up my car on August 5 Drove it home and immediately noticed still having the same issues.Brake lights on even after I Called dealer and brought car back in. They kept my car 2 more days then I received a call it would be 200 for a brake flush they were confident that it would fix the light issue. And now we would we have to pay for another repair. A brake flush for brake lights staying on didn’t make sense. We felt we were being upsold for something we didn’t need and they had no answere for us! We declined the second repair and picked up car on 8/07/2026 and still the brake lights are staying on while driving the car. We woke up to looking out our window and noticed lights were on . Mind you the car had not been driven for hrs and the lights turned themselves on while car was parked. Skip to Sunday driving home from in laws and dash lights up. It says hillside assist and yellow wrench pops up. I fear my daughters safety and feel it is unsafe now. Called Ford to make a complaint. But meanwhile I have a car that we need but feel unsafe to drive. Our car is having more issues than when we took it in to the dealer. I need a resolution but what I really need is my money back so that I can take the car elsewhere! I feel car was misdiagnosed and I should not have to pay for their mistake. No options were given just to pay for more repairs. We asked for past invoices to be printed so I can keep a copy. Was told they cannot print past invoices. I felt we were taken advantage of we should get our money back for a diagnosis that was not repaired.

The vehicle slowed down on the highway and had to pull over and get off the freeway. Brake lights stayed o On. was able to drive the car at max n No more then 40 mph. A part had broken off in the brake pedal area. Not sure where. But had to unplug the brake switch so my battery would not die. With out the brake switch connected the car will not shift into gear or drive. .

I left my car at Ford to do the recalls, they just called me telling me they won’t fix the brake light on because in Florida it doesn’t cover the repair, something about the humidity here. It doesn’t make sense for me, they were trying to charge me around 400 bucks to fix it. They will give me my car back without fixing the problem. My car is at Matthews-Currie Ford in Venice.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 25 MPH, the Hill Assist warning light illuminated, prompting the driver to return to the residence. After a visual inspection, the contact became aware that the rear brake lights failed to turn off and remained illuminated continuously even without the brake pedal being depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Safety Recall 22S02, Supplement #1. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 155,000.

I currently believe that the break pedal bumper has failed. My brake tail lights are permanently on, even when the car is off & unoccupied. My cruise control has been disabled and throttle control has been sporadic. The accelerator pedal does not respond properly when driving, it will either give no response or a sudden surge of power (Usually up to 5000 RPM), cause unsafe driving conditions and the inability to maintain accurate control of the speed of the vehicle. This may be because the vehicle thinks the brake is constantly being pressed. The vehicle is also a push button start and I can start it without pressing the brake, which leads me to believe it thinks the brake is always on. I've read there was a recall previously for brake bumpers, but it did not cover my location. I believe that recall needs to be expanded. I have found a yellowed (from age, was probably clear) chunk of a rubber washer/gasket on my floor board under the brake pedal. I have my vehicle scheduled to be looked at by a Ford dealer on Tuesday the 18th. There are no warning lights, messages, or anything else that indicates that the vehicle believes there is an issue. I can instruct the Ford dealership to hold onto the part, if it is the issue and if the NHTSA wants it, assuming I get a response prior to my appointment.

MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CONTACTED ME SAYING HER CAR WOULD NOT 'GO', THAT SHE WAS DRIVING AND IT JUST DROPPED DOWN TO 20MPH AND ALTHOUGH SHE WAS ACCELERATING, NOTHING WAS HAPPENING, THE RPMS WERE NOT INCREASING. SHE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN TESTED DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE HOME AS SHE WAS IN ANOTHER CITY. EVERYTHING SEEMED WELL SO SHE BEGAN HER JOURNEY BACK HOME, ONLY TO MAKE IT ABOUT 2 MILES AND THE CAR WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. SHE WAS ABLE TO PARK IT IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS GIVEN A RIDE HOME. WE THEN WENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND UPON ARRIVING, I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, BUT THE CAR WAS OFF. I DECIDED TO TRY TO DRIVE IT HOME SO THAT I COULD CONFIRM AND EXPERIENCE WHAT SHE DESCRIBED. I MAINTAINED A LOWER RATE OF SPEED, AROUND 40MPH. I DECIDED TO TRY TO PUT ON CRUISE CONTROL, BUT IT WOULD NOT WORK. AT ONE POINT WHERE THE CAR WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND WAS ACTIVELY DECELERATING, I PULLED IN TO A CONVENIENCE STORE. I THEN NOTICES A 'HILL PARK ASSIST' WARNING LIGHT COME ON. I DID FINALLY DRIVE IT THE REMAINDER OF THE WAY HOME. ONCE HOME, I BEGAN RESEARCHING THE POSSIBLE ISSUES AND FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORDS. THERE WAS A SUGGESTION TO LOOK AT THE FLOOR BOARD, UPON DOING SO, I FOUND BROKEN PIECES OF A SILICON TYPE BUSHING. IN SUMMARY: THE 'BRAKE SWITCH ENGAGEMENT BUSHING' BROKE AWAY. THIS CAUSES THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT ENGAGE, HILL PARK ASSIST WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, BUT MOST CONCERNING IS THE VEHICLE STOPS ACCELERATING AND LOSES THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN SPEEDS ABOVE 20-40MPH, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A DANGEROUS SCENARIO IF TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE.

IN THE SUMMER OF LAST YEAR 2018 I WAS IN A STORE SHOPPING CAME OUT CRANKED MY CAR, THE AIR WOULD NOT COME ON AND THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN. IT WAS IN THE 90'S THAT DAY AND EVEN HOTTER INSIDE MY CAR! THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME IN THE PARKING LOT. IT HAD THIS PROBLEM THE REST OF THE SUMMER WHILE THE TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE WAS HOT. IT IS APRIL 2019 AND JUST A FEW DAYS AGO WE HAD A WARM DAY AROUND 75 DEGREES. I LEFT FOR WORK STOPPED AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY HAD THE CAR IN PARK AND LEFT MY DOOR OPEN WHILE I GOT THE MAIL. GOT BACK IN AND AGAIN DID NOT HAVE AIR AND COULD NOT ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK EITHER. LAST YEAR DURING THE TIME THE AIR AND WINDOWS WERE NOT WORKING MY BATTERY WAS DEAD WHEN I WAS GOING TO GO TO WORK ONE MORNING. TOOK IT OUT AND WENT AND HAD IT TESTED AT LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN A BATTERY THAT THEY COULDN'T READ LIKE THAT BEFORE. IT'S LIKE THE BATTERY WAS FRIED. ALONG WITH THOSE PROBLEMS LAST YEAR MY CAR WAS STATIONARY AT HOME IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I WENT TO GET IN MY CAR AND MY DOORS WERE LOCKED I TRIED THE REMOTE AND THE KEYLESS ENTRY AND NOTHING WOULD UNLOCK MY DOORS. SO I HAD NO ACCESS TO GET INTO MY CAR. A FEW DAYS LATER I TRIED AGAIN AND IT UNLOCKED. I'VE ALSO CAME HOME A COUPLE TIMES AT NIGHT IN THE PAST WEEK AND NOTICED THE INSIDE LIGHTS WHERE THE AIR/HEAT & RADIO CONTROLS ARE IS FLASHING ON AND OFF AND THE OUTSIDE GROUND LIGHTS UNDER THE MIRRORS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR ARE ON. I HAD TO UNHOOK BATTERY. NO KEYS IN IGNITION AND CAR IS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY. I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU HAVE NO AIR AND YOU CAN'T ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS IN HOT WEATHER AND ALSO WHEN YOU GET LOCKED OUT OF YOUR CAR. THE CAR IS DEFINITELY NOT DRIVABLE IN HOT WEATHER! UNKNOWN CAUSE, MAY POSSIBLY BE SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER OR WIRING OF THE CAR.

DRIVING STEADY STATE ON NORMAL STATE HIGHWAY ROAD SURFACE IN DRY DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN CHIMING AND DISPLAYING A LONG SEQUENCE OF ERROR MESSAGES AND MILS. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, SPEEDOMETER ZEROED AND CLUSTER LOST POWER. CENTER STACK THEN LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE HAD NO EXTERIOR LIGHTS, NO HORN. VEHICLE "BELIEVES" IGNITION IS OFF, THEREFORE NO AIRBAGS. AFTER PULLING OVER AND A KEY OFF/ KEY ON, VEHICLE WAS NORMAL FOR A COUPLE MINUTES, THEN REPEATED THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE. FIRST ISSUE WAS WITH VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY AND DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM OTHER THAN LONG LIST OF CODES. 2ND DEALER IN DEC 2018 PERFORMED REPAIR DETAILED ON TSB TO WRAP CHAFFED WIRE. PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN JAN 23 AND 26, 2019. ADDITIONALLY TODAY VEHICLE WILL NOT START.

THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING AT NIGHT. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE LIGHTS DIM AS YOU INCREASE SPEED. I HAVE GONE TO TWO DEALERSHIPS BOTH TELLING ME THEY ARE "FINE" "NOTHING WRONG". I HAVE COMPLAINED TO FORD CORP ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT THEY DO NOTHING TO HELP REMEDY THE SITUATION. DRIVERS SIDE LIGHTING CLUSTER WILL NOT KEEP LIGHTS FOR MORE THAN A YEAR BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULBS. I HAVEN'T HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHTBULBS MORE THAN ONCE IN COMPARISON. ON TOP OF THAT THE SYNC SYSTEM HAS HAD ISSUES FROM ABOUT MONTH THREE OF OWNERSHIP. THEY HAVE REPLACED PART OF THE COMPUTER BUT NOW HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG. IT IS "NORMAL" FOR MY A/C AND HEAT TO TAKE CONTROL OF ITSELF AND CHANGE WITH ME HAVING NO WAY TO CONTROL IT. THE HEATED SEATS WILL TURN ON BY THEMSELVES, THE POWER WINDOWS DO NOT WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS, AND MY BLUETOOTH WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED TO MY PHONE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO TWO DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND ONCE AGAIN "IT IS FINE" "NOTHING IS WRONG". APPARENTLY THIS ISSUE LEAVES NO PROBLEM CODE TO GIVE A PLACE TO START FOR REPAIR. I HAVE VIDEO TAPED IT AND STILL THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. IT IS BECOMING HOT HERE NOW AND THIS ALL SEAMS TO BE A HEALTH RISK FOR MYSELF AND PASSENGERS. ALL OF THIS TENDS TO HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND ANY TIME OF DAY. I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT "EVERYTHING IS FINE/NORMAL" WITH THE CAR.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY 2014 FUSION CUT OFF. A WARNING INDICATOR POPPED UP THAT SAID "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK". WE HAD TO COAST OFF TO THE SHOULDER, FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO CARS IN THE LANE WE HAD TO CROSS TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. LATER TODAY (THE SAME DAY) IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME. THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER. WE WERE DRIVING PAST THE DEALERSHIP WE USE, SO WE LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM TO BE FIXED AND HAVE THE OIL CHANGED. WE WILL BE WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME THE FIRST OF THE WEEK,BUT FELT IT NECESSARY TO REPORT THIS SINCE OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.

I WAS EXITING A FREEWAY WHEN I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST PROBLEM. IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, MY CAR SHUT OFF AND I LOST MOST FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYED AN ALERT TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY AND DID NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS OR MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE GEARS. HE ONLY THING THAT WAS FUNCTIONING WAS THE BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL, I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE GAS. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. I WAS SPEEDING UP TO GET ON TO THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN, DISPLAYING THE SAME MESSAGE. HOWEVER, THIS TIME, BECAUSE IT WAS NIGHT, THE LIGHTS POWERED OFF AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE WHAT WAS AHEAD OF ME. I TURNED ON MY HAZARDS AND WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE, PLACE THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION AND CONTINUE ON. I CALLED ABOUT THE ISSUE AS SOON AS THE FORD DEALERSHIP OPENED THE NEXT DAY. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT RIGHT IN. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO BRING IT IN. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PASS AN 18 WHEELER. I SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE TRUCK, BUT AFTER I DID, THE POWER SHUT OFF AGAIN AND I WAS SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO 18 WHEELERS.THE NEXT DAY, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK IT OFF MY HANDS FOR ABOUT A WEEK WHILE THEY TESTED IT FOR PROBLEMS. I RECEIVED A CALL AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THEY FIXED A CABLE THAT APPEARED TO BE LOOSE THAT MIGHT HAVE LED TO THE PROBLEM, AND ALSO GAVE THE CAR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I WAS PLEASED WITH THE RESPONSE.A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED THE FORD CARE TEAM AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD OPEN A CASE FOR A BUYBACK.ON SEPT 23, I RECEIVED A VOICEMAIL FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WHEN THEY TESTED IT WAS FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD. THEY CAN AND WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. *TR

I WENT TO MY DEALERSHIP IN MEXICO COMPLAINING ABOUT THE AUTOLAMP FUNCTION, THE AUTOLAMP IS EXPECTED FROM THE CUSTOMER TO AVOID DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING AND CONDITIONS LIKE TUNNELS ARE AHEAD IT SHOULD TURN ON THE LIGHTS AS YOU ENTER OR A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER, HOWEVER REALITY IS THAT THE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON AFTER 13 SECONDS AND THAT CAN'T BE REDUCED BY THE DEALER, ACCORDING TO THE DEALER THAT'S HOW THE CAR WAS DESIGNED (NOT ONLY FOR MEXICO) AND THAT'S A BIG SECURITY RISK , IN A VERY DARK TUNNEL 13 SECONDS IT'S TO LATE AND PEOPLE COULD DIE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. I ENCOURAGE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO TAKE REAL ACTION TO CORRECT AND RECALL THIS FUNCTION TO BE CORRECTED ASAP WORLD WIDE, IT'S INCREDIBLE THAT WITH SUCH GOOD CAR THEY MISSED THIS LITTLE BUT HIGHLY IMPORTANT DETAIL. *JS
