THERE IS A STRONG FUEL SMELL IN THE PASSENGER CABIN. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THE FUEL LINES HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE FUEL SMELL CONTINUES. IT HAPPENS ON START, WHEN STOPPING AFTER DRIVING, WHEN IDLING. IT HAS HAPPENED SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS. IT MAKES THE VEHICLE ALMOST UNDRIVABLE AND I AM GETTING SICK FROM IT BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET ANOTHER VEHICLE WITHOUT SELLING THIS ONE AND I CAN'T SELL THIS ONE TO SOMEONE UNLESS THE GAS SMELL IS FIXED. I WANT IT FIXED OR MY MONEY BACK. I THINK IT SHOULD BE A DEALER REPAIR SINCE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND SINCE IT'S BEEN DOING IT SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
