1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Heating & air conditioning Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the heating or air-conditioning system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Heating & air conditioning reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR THAT I FOUND AT AN INTERNET SITE "LEMONAIDCARS.COM" THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 7 YEARS AND 115KM. THIS JEEP WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED IF THE WARRANTY NOTICE HAD BEEN SENT TO JEEP OWNERS.

HAVE ALREADY REPLACED HIGH AND LOW HOSES AND HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE EVAPORATOR CORE LEAKS. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT CHRYSLER JEEP HAS HAD RECALLS ON THE EVAPORATOR CORE THAT MAY STILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THIS YEAR MODEL AND MAKE VEHICLE. IF THIS PART WAS RECALLED I WANT TO HAVE IT REPLACED. *AK

Crash reported1 injury reported

THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HORNS WENT OUT IMMEDIATELY. THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER. I WAS TOLD "O"-RINGS, GOT NEW ONES PUT ON. THEN IT WORKED WELL FOR 3 OR 4 DAYS. THEN IT STARTED NOT PUTTING OUT COLD AIR AGAIN. STILL NOT FIXED. THEY CONTINUE ADDING THAT NEW STUFF. THEY PUT IN, I FORGOT WHAT IT'S CALLED. THE HORNS I USED 3 DAYS A WEEK PRIOR. AS I PICKED UP MY NIECE TO TAKE HER TO SCHOOL. THEN, ON TOP OF IT ALL, THE ALTERNATOR AND WATER PUMP WENT OUT HAD TO REPLACE THEM. THE BATTERY DIED TO, 11 MONTHS OLD, REPLACED. I FEEL THIS WAS ALL DUE TO THE CAR ACCIDENT. ACCORDING TO MOST MECHANICS, IT'S NORMAL WEAR. *AK
