My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe was brought to an authorized Jeep dealership on July 25, 2026 for recall/warranty-related issues. The vehicle currently has approximately 17,000 miles and has remained continuously in the dealership's possession since July 25. As of September 21, 2026, the vehicle has been unavailable to me for approximately 58 days and has still not been repaired or returned. The dealership has verbally informed me that the vehicle requires replacement of both the engine and the high-voltage battery. However, I have not been provided the specific recall campaign numbers in writing. According to the dealership, the repair has been substantially delayed while waiting for the necessary parts from Jeep/FCA. The vehicle remains at the authorized dealership and is available for inspection. I am concerned that safety-related defects serious enough to require replacement of both the engine and high-voltage battery have left this vehicle unusable for nearly three months, with no completed repair and no firm return date. I am reporting this because Jeep/FCA has been unable to complete the required recall-related repairs within a reasonable period. The vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by an authorized Jeep dealership, which continues to retain possession of it. I am requesting that NHTSA review this extended repair delay and Jeep/FCA's ability to provide the required safety-recall remedies and replacement parts in a timely manner.

On XXX I was driving to work at 0600 engine started to lose power (after a recall for same complaint @ 2 weeks prior) and fail, I was able to limp it to the Friendly Jeep Dealer in [XXX]. They have had my car for 31 days with no resolution and without providing a loaner or rental. I'm paying for a car I don't have and a rental Stellantis should be paying for. There is no plan for repair or timing of new engine replacement. I filed formal notice of dissatisfaction and intent to pursue all available legal remedies. After a cold start (sitting for a few hours or overnight) if I were to give the vehicle some gas, 15% pressure on the petal, the car bucks violently shifting from 1st to 2nd to the extent of 'chirping' the tires. This happens about 50% of all starts, the severity varies from slight (like a small bump in the road) to violent (chirping the tires \ breaking suddenly) It's been reported several times to the dealer but they cannot replicate the issue.

The vehicle is experiencing several issues: When accelerating on the highway, propulsion suddenly cuts out. Another issue is that, at times, the engine starts at high RPMs—even when the hybrid battery is charged—without any warm-up period; the engine RPMs then begin to fluctuate on their own. This latter behavior could lead to engine wear or unexpected failure, as the engine fires up at high speeds and begins charging without allowing the oil to properly lubricate the engine components. These issues almost always occur between 40 and 45 mph while the hybrid battery is charged, and the problem began following the "Recall 68C" service campaign.

After completing the 68c recall, one week later, my Wrangler got the red turtle message and the check engine light came on. I lost power and the fan went on full power and sounded like a jet engine. Lost power on the highway. It has been at the dealer for 4.5 weeks and still has not been looked at to diagnose. No loaner. No rental. Nothing. It is unsafe to drive so it has to be left at the dealer.

This is a 2024 Jeep RubiconX with 10.5k miles. I was running 60mph on a state highway on electric mode. I Didn’t see the battery was nearing 50%… sure enough Jeep lost power at 50% charge even though I was trying to floor it to keep it moving. The ICE kicked in a few seconds later. There was a car right behind me and understandably started honking his horn thereafter. Not even sure if my tail lights turned on when it lost power- I’m assuming not because my foot wasn’t on the brakes. Next morning the Jeep is dead. Dealership confirmed HV battery replacement. I’m just not sure how these are still allowed on the road. Specially with what 3 or 4 recalls on the same batteries with which Jeep’s resolution is simply a software update to detect any bad battery? Even with the 4th recall on the same issue, there are still reports of vehicles catching up on fire while parked. Not sure how you can keep letting them get away with this. Now Jeep has been throttling battery and electric performance without letting the owners know of the changes- this last recall (68C) they installed the 50% threshold mentioned above where the battery will just stop providing power and make the engine take over after some delay. This experience is not unique to me- it has been reported by several others in the largest Jeep 4xe forum. Endangering peoples lives by killing battery power abruptly in the middle of the road to save Stellantis/Jeep money from actually putting a fix on the issue is just another Ford Pinto moment. After our batteries die, they get replaced by….. the same exact faulty battery so that we can go through the same experiences over again. Jeep hasn’t addressed the root cause of the issue- bad battery design, and here we still are with hundreds of thousands of Jeeps on the road that may abruptly die in the middle of the road or catch fire on the lot. We can do better than this.

2024 Jeep 4XE Wrangler Rubicon, 3 recalls, 1st EV battery, potential fire hazard, 2nd Sand in the engine, potential fire hazard, 3rd wiring harness for steering unit, potential fire hazard, all of them can cause a fire with it being parked and not even plugged in for charging. FCA sent out the recall notices, and later said they had remedies, the problem is the remedies aren't remedies at all. I was at my dealership 2 days ago talking to my service writer, and he told me that another customer with the same vehicle passed the so called remedy for sand in the engine, a few days later his engine light came on, and now the dealership is replacing his engine, with that being said doesn't that mean that even with a passed so called remedy, it could still be a fire hazard. I have had all the recalls done at my dealership, but I don't feel that they are being honest about any of these remedies actually working, and that everytime I get in the vehicle or park it I'm afraid that it could still catch fire. I have a vehicle that has been taken off the market by the manufacturer, and has told the dealerships not to sell them, I have tried to get some reimbursement, but have had no luck, am hiring an attorney to try to get something done.

I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle after recalls: "the 2.0 engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process ... leading to catastrophic engine failure." "firmware software...may cause loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash." "The high voltage battery may become damaged during normal vehicle operation ... advising owners to park away from structures or other vehicles" "Electric Hydraulic Power Steering Pump may have electrical issue ... may lead to a fire." When driving in fully electric mode on the highway, my 4xe lit up an error message of “electric mode temporarily unavailable” and lost all power and momentum. I went from 70mph to 50 mph in heavy traffic before the hybrid motor came back to provide power after approximately 4-5 seconds. This is a repeating occurrence when attempting to drive in fully electric mode, even at low speeds. I have nearly been hit in rear end collisions when I have lost power as there is no warning, the acceleration just fails and I lose all power and momentum.

I am requesting NHTSA investigate the handling of Safety Recall 78C on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. My vehicle has entered a dangerous highway limp mode multiple times, including at approximately 75 mph, with sudden loss of power and an ACC! warning. This is especially dangerous on California highways and steep grades where losing propulsion can make it impossible to maintain traffic speed or safely reach a shoulder. The ACC! warning has appeared three times. On one occurrence, while the warning was active, O’Reilly Auto Parts scanned the Jeep and documented pending code P2338, Cylinder 3 Knock Control Threshold. I have the printout showing my VIN and mileage. The problem is that the warning/code clears after the ignition is shut off. When the condition happened on a Saturday, the Jeep service department was closed. Dealership sales staff refused to scan it and said only a technician could use a scanner. Even during business hours, the dealer says only a technician can scan it, but technicians may not be available for days. It is impossible to leave the vehicle running indefinitely waiting for someone to scan it. The Santa Maria Jeep dealer has now driven the vehicle twice and says that because the warning did not reappear during those short drives, they cannot confirm the condition. These events have occurred days apart, so two short test drives do not rule out an intermittent engine defect. I had the Jeep towed through Jeep Roadside Assistance because I consider it unsafe to drive. Jeep Cares has assigned me three different case managers in three days. They state they cannot require the dealer to examine deeper stored diagnostic data because they are third-party contractors. I have photos of the ACC! warning, the P2338 diagnostic report, VIN, mileage, tow documentation, and repeated loss-of-propulsion history. Jeep Cares and the dealership won't look deeper or longer even with the proof it was there.

Following the completion of the 68C recall update on 4/17/26 my 2024 Jeep 4xE experiences a severe loss of acceleration and throttle lag at highway speeds (over 50 mph) when in electric mode. When attempting to pass vehicles (and sometimes when in the oncoming traffic lane), or when just trying to maintain speed in traffic, the drivetrain abruptly throttles power; causing the vehicle to bog down and hesitate. There is no ability to accelerate and care slows. The gas pedal is essentially useless. The gas engine then performs a panic start, causing the vehicle to lurch forward at highway speeds. It has created and dangerous driving condition when passing, merging or just trying to keep pace the traffic around me. There is no way to know exactly when it will happen, so the unpredictability makes it even more dangerous. I understand this is an issue with many Jeep 4xE since the 68C recall update. It has happened to me 4 times now, the most recent was today. This is unacceptable.

While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power and would not accelerate beyond approximately 60 mph. This created a safety risk because I could not maintain normal highway traffic speed. I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealership, where a recall repair was performed. However, the same loss-of-power issue occurred again. After further inspection, the dealership informed me that the vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 78C and requires a complete engine replacement. I am not a technician and cannot determine the exact cause of the failure; I have relied on the dealership and Stellantis for diagnosis and repair. The dealership confirmed that the replacement engine is on backorder and the repair cannot be completed. My vehicle has been at the dealership since June 2, 2026, and has been unavailable for nearly two months. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Neither the dealership nor Stellantis has provided an estimated date for parts availability or repair completion. The timeline is UNKNOWN. The recall and engine replacement requirement were confirmed by the authorized dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Manufacturer inspection is UNKNOWN. I do not recall any warning lamps or messages before the power loss occurred. I continue to make monthly lease payments for a vehicle I cannot use. No loaner vehicle was provided. Stellantis offers rental reimbursement of up to $50 per day, but this does not cover actual rental costs. Even the least expensive rentals in my area exceed $50 per day, requiring me to pay additional expenses out of pocket. This is the second time a manufacturer recall has caused an extended loss of vehicle use. A previous recall kept my vehicle unavailable for more than one month. My lease expires in February 2027, but I continue paying while the vehicle remains unusable. I requested a buyback due to the lack of a repair timeline, but Stellantis denied my request

My vehicle has had issues since October of 2024, I bought it March 2024. The first problem that arose was the fuel door button wouldn’t work, the informant screen flickered, and engine light would come on and off all of this began after getting it serviced Oct 2024, I took back to the dealership 3 days later to get it diagnosed. The fuel tank isolation valve was the problem which caused the vehicle to not be able to be pumped, the gas would start spilling when attempted to pump, which left me stranded a few time. This was also causing the electrical flickering and shaking of the vehicle. They were able to fix the issue 3 months later after having the vehicle for a week, during those 3 months the vehicle was still shaking, the electrical components kept flickering or turning off, and it was difficult to pump gas. Last November the vehicle started shaking when I drove it, or stall in the middle of the road. My sensors would stay on for my mirrors even when no one was driving near me or just turn off. My informant screen would just show a black screen and wouldn’t turn on. My engine light turns on and off, so I took it in for the last two recalls to be fixed on June 3, 2026 (#78C 2023-2025 MY WL PHEV, 2024- 2025 JL PHEV 2.0L ESS E) & (#68C 2020-2025 JL & 2022-2026 WL PHEV HV BATTERY FIRES) and now the car hasn’t turned on since July 20, 2026. The dealership won’t send a tow although my car will not turn on because of the new software install they put in. I requested my service records to be sent to me and they refused and made me come in person for all my service receipts.
