Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.

I purchased a brand new 2025 Lexus with only 3 miles recently I had a nail in my tire and took my vehicle to a local tire shop who could not removed the tire to put a patch because I did not have tire lock key; we searched the vehicle from top to bottom one was never given to me at the time of purchase. I contacted Lexus of Palm Beach several times and left a message for my service advisor BK and texted BK no response and several messages for the service manager who to this date has never called me back, finally BK told me that “Lexus had a new system and he didn’t received the messages” I reside in [XXX] and BK promised to coordinate with the dealership I provided him for me to obtain a tire lock key, this was June and I never heard back from BK. Last night I had issues with a different tire late at night and because I could not remove the tire I had to have my vehicle towed. However upon requesting Lexus tow company I had to wait 198 hours in for help by myself in a closed business parking lot for AAA called by the Lexus Roadside Assistance. Lexus has placed me in a life endangering situation. I am now stranded at my house with an inoperable vehicle and cannot go to work; the local dealership in Tampa does not have any appointments; this could have been avoided if not for the negligence of Lexus. Review the roadside service ticket which has my contact information I am requesting an immediate call from the dealership of Lexus of Palm Beach 5700 Okeechoobee Blvd West Palm Beach FL 33417. The interior door latch is electronic with a manual lever in case it loses power. The problem is the electronic latch will occasionally malfunctions, and the door is partially open. When this happens, you cannot get the door to open all the way with the electric door latch or the manual door latch. The only way to get it open is to pull very hard on the door to close it again or get someone to push on the outside of the door. I alerted the dealer about this, and they said I have to push harder when I open the door. This has happened to me many times. The safety issue here is plain. If a person is not strong enough to pull the door closed it will not open.

My wife was backing out of a parking space and her car did not give a warning nor did it stop as she hit another parked car. Damage to both cars was substantial and if the car was operating properly she should NOT have been able to hit another car in the manner she did. The car has been recalled for similar problems. I filed a complaint with Lexus who did an investigation and indicate there was no problem with the system. I can only say that if a person was behind the car she would have most likely run them down. The car DID NOT STOP as it was supposed to.

Battery was DEAD after being parked for one week. Car was in residential garage (outdoor temp about 10 degrees. garage temp measured 46 degrees. Please Note: The SAME problem happened to my 2025 plug in RX and 2025 plug in NX. I doubt this is a coincidence and there are plenty of websites that indicate a significant problem.

Crash reported

The contact owns a 2025 Lexus NX 250. The contact stated that while parking in a disabled spot, going forward, the vehicle struck a handicap post during an unintended acceleration, which then crashed into the parked vehicle in front before the contact was able to shift the vehicle into park. The contact stated that the vehicle went over the parking barriers between the spots. The front of the vehicle and the driver's side fender were damaged, and there was property damage from the handicap post. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting the post. The contact then reversed the vehicle and shifted it into park. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred during rainy weather conditions and confirmed that the accelerator pedal was not depressed during the time of the failure. No air bags were deployed. The vehicle was able to be driven from the crash scene. There were no injuries sustained, and the other parked vehicle that was crashed into was unoccupied. The contact stated that before and after the incident, no warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,710.

With this 2025 Lexus NX350 Premium AWD, the front windshield glass is BADLY distorted. Looking at the road ahead while seated behind the steering wheel, objects aren't clear, they tend to be wobbly as there is a MAJOR safety issue here with the glass itself. My dealer told me that the other 2025 Lexus NX models they checked all have the same distorted windshield problem as mine does. Its so bad, I frankly can't drive the vehicle as much as I want because I get car sick, dizzy, and at times nauseated while traveling down the road. Perhaps it's a Toyota vender problem or simply a screw up with the development engineers that didn't catch the problem during the vehicles testing?

I purchased a brand-new 2025 Lexus NX 350 from Lexus of Smithtown, NY less than two months ago. At around 1,300 miles, I discovered a large amount of water pooled on the front passenger floor and could hear water sloshing inside the vehicle while driving. I immediately brought it to the dealership for inspection. According to the dealer’s service report dated October 13, 2025, technicians found the A/C drain clogged, removed the carpet from the front passenger area, and confirmed the padding was soaked with water. They recommended replacing the carpet, padding, and performing an A/C refresh service, estimating about $7,000. The dealership stated the issue was caused by “outside influence” and referred me to file an insurance claim rather than covering it under the new-vehicle warranty. The vehicle has never been exposed to flooding, road debris, or unusual environmental conditions. It is kept in a clean residential garage and driven under normal use. Given the extremely low mileage and short ownership period, this appears to be a manufacturing or design defect in the HVAC condensate drain system rather than external damage. Water intrusion inside the cabin poses potential safety and health risks, including mold growth, corrosion of electrical components, and possible impact on airbag or electronic systems. Similar A/C drain and water-leak problems have been reported by other Lexus NX owners in prior model years, suggesting a recurring design weakness that may also affect the 2025 model. Lexus should investigate whether the A/C drain design or installation allows premature blockage and issue a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or recall if appropriate. The car 2025 Lexus NX350) hydroplanes on wet roads at normal highway speeds. Last week, my wife hydroplaned into an adjacent lane on I40 in Nashville and could have been injured or worse. The tires that were delivered on the car (Bridgestone Alenza) make it unsafe to drive in wet weather. The issue was reported to the local Lexus dealership and then elevated to Lexus corporate (case 250910001090) but was not satisfactorily resolved.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The subject vehicles are equipped with a rear motor unit and an HV Floor Under Wire that provide high voltage to operate the motor. Mud, water, or road salt could potentially enter the HV Floor Under Wire connector housing and could cause corrosion over time. Excessive corrosion could cause AM Radio Static during certain driving cycles, or the vehicle may not start.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
