TRIED TO SLIGHTLY DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO MOVE UP IN TRAFFIC BUT ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK AND HAD TO APPLY MORE FORCE TO DEPRESS ACCELERATOR CAUSING VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US. REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT EXTEND TO ALLOW IT TO BE PUT ON. *TR
COMPLAINING ABOUT A 1999 MERCURY VILLAGER NOT HAVING A LATCH SYSTEM IN THE BACK SEATS. *TR
THE SEA BELTS ON PASSENGERS (BACK SEATS) LOCK MOST THE TIMES AND SOMETIMES I HAVE TO MOVE MY DAUGHTER TO THE FRONT AND MY WIFE TO THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE WE CANNOT USE THE SEAT BELTS, TOOK VAN TO THE DEALER ON MY FIRST YEAR OR SECOND AND EVEN THEY SAID THEY FIXED (NEVER GOT THE PAPER WORK AND I EVEN REQUESTED SINCE WAS UNDER WARRANTY). A FRIEND OF MINE WHO OWN'S A VAN LIKE MINE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
THE STRAP THAT WENT THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT CAME ALL THE WAY THROUGH. THE CHILD WAS NOT SECURE. *PH *JB
I HAVE A 1999 MERCURY VILLAGER PURCHASED FROM BLUE HILL LINCOLN MERCURY IN CANTON, MASSACHUSETTS. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM ON THE 2ND ROW OF SEATS ON THE FAR LEFT SIDE. THE BELTS WILL INTERMITTENTLY LOCK UP TRAPPING THE PASSENGER SUDDENLY. THE ONLY RECOURSE IS TO UNBUCKLE THEM AND RESET THEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED ONCE BEFORE AND AFTER MUCH ARGUMENT THE DEALERSHIP RELUCTANTLY REPLACED THE MECHANISM. NOW I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND SINCE I CANNOT DEMONSTRATE THE PROBLEM ON COMMAND, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPLACE THE FAULTY MECHANISM. *JB
SEAT BELT FAILED TO KEEP A PASSENGER SECURE. *AK THE PASSENGER WAS INJURED DUE TO SEAT BELT FAILURE. *YH
THE REAR SEAT BELT RETRACTOR JAMS ON A LEVER THATS LOCATED IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THE BELT IS PULLED ALL THE WAY. THIS HAPPENS WHE THE BELT IS RETRACTING, AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS IN INABLES THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED, AND REPLACED THE SYSTEM ONCE BEFORE, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AGAIN. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A 3-CAR ACCIDENT WHERE OWNER REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 10 TO 15MPH, AND THE BENCH SEAT SEATBELTS DID NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN OCCUPANT. OCCUPANT WAS THROWN INTO THE SEATS IN FRONT OF THEM. ALSO AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE. *AK
