2024 MINI Cooper S

The contact owns a 2024 Mini Cooper S. The contact stated that a brake pad failure message was illuminated on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the brake fluid service issue. The brake fluid flush was completed, and a complimentary oil change was provided. Two days after doing so, approximately two days later, the Oil Light illuminated, advising to add a quart of oil. The vehicle was returned and inspected. It was assumed the cap was not on tight enough. The air conditioner failed shortly after. The vehicle was returned, and it was diagnosed that the AC motor had failed. The motor was replaced, and 2 days later, the Oil Light advising for 1 quart of oil illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed an oil leak but had not identified where. They added 2 quarts of oil and advised returning to the dealer. The dealer confirmed an oil leak and provided the contact with a loaner. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the issues. The failure mileage was 12,625.

Due to an implementation error in various OBD diagnostics in the vehicle's control units, in very rare cases itmay happen that stored fault memory codes (DTCs) and the MIL (warning light) are not automaticallydeleted even though the underlying malfunction has already been rectified. This does not comply with the statutory OBD specifications.

A Check Control message displays for “Transmission oil service required” (ID 2120). This warning can be triggered: From 60,000 miles (95,000 km) to 78,000 miles (125,000 km) After six years: The time interval of “six years” starts from the production date of the vehicle, not on the day of the first registration or the completion of the pre-delivery check (PDI). If the vehicle is driven more than approx. 1900 miles (3,000 km) after the first CCM, then a second message will be display for “Transmission fault!” (ID 368).

The ambient lighting color cannot be saved permanently after programming. The personalized color of the ambient lighting resets after the vehicle is turned off and/or has gone to sleep.

The headlamp control module(s) may not have been produced to specifications. As a result, the headlamp(s) may not function as designed. If this were to occur, it would typically occur at vehicle start and only affect one headlamp. In an extremely rare case, it could affect both headlamps.

The vehicle may have issues with SiriusXM operation. Specifically, SiriusXM may not be available oroperating in the vehicle; OR SiriusXM audio is interrupted sporadically. The following faults may be stored in the head unit (HU-H6): B7F912 – “Communication between SDARS application and RAM SXM module is not possible” B7F924 – “SDARS SXM360L function not available”
