The instrument panel located on the dash is a digital display. There are cracks forming making the view difficult to see air in the tanks or speed. This is built on a Freightliner chassis. I have seen other RV forums where this is a common problem. This cracking will continue to get worse making it difficult to see any instruments on the panel.

Built in TPMS system failing by year 3. Know Freightliner problem. Batteries also dead in TPMS by year 3. “Out of warranty”. Safety issue as tire related incidents one of the largest causes for accidents and death. Freightliner knows they have a bad system but refuses to provide customer service. Well known issue if you look at forums.

The Freightliner optiview instrument cluster dash display delamination is starting. All the vital information in order to be able to operate my Rv safely on the road is a concern. From knowing my speed to all the vital engine and tire conditions is a road hazard. I would hate to cause an accident due to this serious flaw with this part. Freightliner claims they are not going to replace the dash under warranty. I believe that a safety recall is justified.

The TPMS system has never worked consistently and is not reliable. Sometimes it will detect 2 or 3 wheels and sometimes only 1 or none. Freightliner should recall this Gen1 sensor as I've heard of this happening with numerous RV'ers

The contact owns a 2021 Tiffin Allegro Red Motorhome. The contact stated while test driving the motorhome, he heard an abnormal noise while turning the steering wheel. The contact stated while fully turning to the left, the steering wheel seized. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact decided to purchase the motorhome regardless of experiencing the failure. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure. The contact took the motorhome to the local dealer and was referred to the Freightliner dealer. The motorhome was not repaired. The contact took the motorhome to the local dealer Kentucky Truck Sales (1403 Truckers Blvd, Jeffersonville, IN 47130:(812) 283-7172) where it was diagnosed with needing the power steering pump to be replaced. The motorhome was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The dealer Kentucky Truck Sales called the manufacturer and was informed it was a normal operation. The contact picked up the motorhome and took it to another dealer to have the water heater repaired. The motorhome was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,470.

This is reference to the recall for the TPMS system (tire pressure measurement system) under recall campaign SF644A-C. According to the freightliner people they have preformed the necessary recall work and have closed the recall notice as being complete. However, the TPMS still does not work. Now it shows a tire communication error. It is still the same system that is not working!!!

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Stopped using the lights we had been using due to expense. Replaced with these, but these new lights have to be wired in instead of just clicking in. These are the instructions to wire in.
EQUIPMENT
On certain Tiffin Motorhomes equipped with an optional overhead bunk, an additional latch should be installed to secure the bunk in the event that the owner of the motorhome does not fully engage the primary bunk latches.
TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC), has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain model years 2017-2022 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation XCM, XCP, XCR, and XCS vehicles manufactured December 15, 2015, through July 22, 2021. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may display incorrect information, such as maximum temperature and tire pressure, and/or a message that the tires are under or over-inflated. The information displayed by the TPMS may misinform or confuse the driver, increasing the risk of a crash. The TPMS controller will be updated with new software, and certain units will receive a longer antenna mounting bracket to extend the rear antenna downward. Repairs will be performed, at no charge, by DTNA authorized service facilities.

FCCC XC Valor Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) - Daimler states that on certain vehicles and under certain circumstances, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may display incorrect information such as maximum temperature and tire pressure, and /or a message that the tries are under or over-inflated. The TPMS controller will be updated with new software, and certain units will require a longer antenna mounting bracket to extend the rear antenna downward.
TIRES; WHEELS
Tiffin Motorhomes was notified by Daimler Trucks North America on behalf of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation of a defect that exists on specific model year 2017 - 2022 Freightliner Custom Chassis X-Line chassis manufactured February 20, 2017 through November 18, 2021 that are equipped with a valve stem extension and stabilizer configured with a specific tire valve stem and wheel combination. Tiffin Motorhomes built motorhomes on these specific Freightliner chassis between April, 2017 through December 6, 2021. Certain chassis may have been built with the tire valve stem extension for the inner wheel contacting the outer wheel rim opening, potentially damaging the valve stem resulting in a loss of air pressure in the inner tire. A loss of air pressure in the inner tire on a motorhome with a single drive axle may overload the outer tire and increase the risk of a crash.

Tiffin mailed out a Customer Service Advisory on a Daimler Field Service Campaign (SF637) as a curtesy. The subject is FCCC Viper Low Voltage Display.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
