I recently experienced a failure of the Dash A/C on the ref RV. After calling Freightliner, Savannah to find our if they serviced Dash A/C’s, which they informed me they did, I decided to have it inspected locally to rule out a quick fix like recharge the refrigerant. The Mobile RV Mechanic, whom I have used several times previously and is very competent, troubleshot the system and found that the A/C compressor was not engaging. He then found that there was only .2V to the compressor clutch plug. Suspecting the PDM, he called Freightliner Tech services to determine the location of the PDM on this model. They informed him that there was a recall, FL917A, on this VIN that might well be the root of the problem. I was never informed of the recall, either by mail or during the two previous times I have had the RV into Freightliner, Savannah for other recall service or when I called to ask about Dash A/C service. I confirmed my registration with Freightliner for the Referenced VIN. The Subj recall states that if work has been performed prior to receiving the recall, Freightliner will reimburse the owner of that work. Freightliner has refused to reimburse me stating that the technican did not repair the failure. When, in fact, the real failure was Freightliner's failure to notify me of the recall and the technican did fix that. Freightliner owes me the $400.00 I paid to find out there was a recall to fix the Dash A/C.

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Stopped using the lights we had been using due to expense. Replaced with these, but these new lights have to be wired in instead of just clicking in. These are the instructions to wire in.
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Faulty DEF sensors that due to shortage were not replaced. Instead engine software was temporarily modified to account for continued operation with a faulty sensor until replacement sensors were available. This campaign will install an engine control module calibration as well as confirm and/or install a new DEF header.
TIRES; WHEELS
Tiffin Motorhomes was notified by Daimler Trucks North America on behalf of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation of a defect that exists on specific model year 2017 - 2022 Freightliner Custom Chassis X-Line chassis manufactured February 20, 2017 through November 18, 2021 that are equipped with a valve stem extension and stabilizer configured with a specific tire valve stem and wheel combination. Tiffin Motorhomes built motorhomes on these specific Freightliner chassis between April, 2017 through December 6, 2021. Certain chassis may have been built with the tire valve stem extension for the inner wheel contacting the outer wheel rim opening, potentially damaging the valve stem resulting in a loss of air pressure in the inner tire. A loss of air pressure in the inner tire on a motorhome with a single drive axle may overload the outer tire and increase the risk of a crash.

There is the possibility the water filter housing is installed incorrectly. If a motorhome has the water filter housing installed incorrectly, there is the possibility of excess air in the water lines.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
