The defect: TIFFIN MOTORHOMES IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 1200-SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.
The risk: THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.
The remedy: TIFFIN MOTORHOMES IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO IDENTIFY AND NOTIFY ANY AFFECTED OWNERS. OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT NORCOLD DEALERS TO RECEIVE THE REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE. The defect: TIFFIN IS RECALLING 3,507 MY 2004-2007 ALLEGRO, ALLEGRO BAY AND ALLERO BUS, MY 2004-2005 PHAETON AND MY 2005-2007 ZEPHYR MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION. OUR RV REFRIGERATOR IGNITED CAUSING A FIRE IN THE BACK OF THE UNIT. IF WE HAD NOT BEEN HOME, OUR RV WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED. TWO DAYS FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM DOMETIC WARNING OF A POSSIBLE FIRE DANGER. HOWEVER, THE UNIT THAT WE HAVE WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL, BUT THE FIRE OCCURRED EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL LETTER. OUR ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT DOMETIC HAVE GONE UNANSWERED FOR TWO WEEKS. ( IE EMAIL AND TELEPHONE.) THIS INCIDENT REQUIRED THAT WE TURN OFF THE PROPANE USED TO HEAT OUR RV. THEREFORE NOT ONLY DO WE NOT HAVE A REFRIGERATOR, WE ARE UNABLE TO USE THE GAS HEATER. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

CSA-043 FCCC Chassis with Cummins L9 Engine Low Pressure Fuel Hose Tiffin received from Daimler Campaign # F1016; Cummins Campaign # C7111. Cummins Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Cummins L9 engines manufactured between 8/4/23 and 12/21/23. Due to a manufacturing error on the low-pressure fuel hose end crimp fitting, the remote fuel filter hoses installed on the subject engines can become separated from the fuel fitting resulting in fuel leaks and lack of fuel supply to the engine. A fuel hose that becomes disconnected will result in as engine stall increasing the risk of a crash. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire. Cummins has released a field Safety Campaign C7111 to correct this condition by replacing the two subject fuel hoses with hoses having improved connector crimps. Repair parts are currently available at Cummin Distributors and authorized Warranty Dealers. Ther repair will be completed free of charge and most applications will require approximately 1 hour to complete. Until the campaign is completed, Cummins advises customer to periodically check the remote fuel filter hoses for signs of leaking, and immediately seek repairs if leaks are identified.

This was a letter to our dealers we sent out when we first heard of the Kidde fire extinguisher recall, even though it was still unofficial. We knew our coaches on the dealers' lots contained Kidde and could not be sold unreplaced.
