The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Service Body vehicles. The inverter output AC wiring may be routed too tightly in the electrical receptacle enclosure and become damaged, possibly resulting in a short circuit.
The risk: A short may cause the inverter AC wiring to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Altec will install an electrical receptacle enclosure extension, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3340.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.
The risk: An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.
The remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the incorrect certification label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3294.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device, 2022-2024 Forestry Body, 2022-2025 Service Body, and 2025 Digger Derrick vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.
The risk: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Altec will inspect and replace the labels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 7, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN CSN-3251.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from FCA US LLC that certain 2025-2026 Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 cab chassis vehicles with 6.7L engines equipped with Altec equipment may contain an engine emissions-related defect that could affect emissions compliance or motor vehicle safety.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; SERVICE BRAKES

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford Motor Company that a condition relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022-2026 Super Duty vehicles equipped with Altec equipment. It is possible that the trailer module (TRM) may lose communication at vehicle start-up. If a TRM loss of communication occurs and a trailer is connected to the vehicle, the trailer's stop lamps and turn signal indicators will not function. This may result in inoperable trailer brake lights, turn signals, and braking functions, reducing a driver’s ability to control an attached trailer and making it less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from FCA US LLC that a condition exists that relates to motor vehicle safety and affects certain 2025 and 2026 model year (DP) Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis equipped with an Altec aerial device or equipment. On the potentially affected units the trailer tow module may experience a loss of trailer lighting and trailer brakes. The trailer turn signal will not flash when the vehicle turn signal lever is actuated and the trailer stop lights will not be activated upon application of the vehicle service brakes. In addition, if equipped, the trailer brakes will not function.

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that certain 2025 (DJ) RAM 2500 Pickup, 2025 (D2) RAM 3500 Pickup, 2025 (DD) RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2025 (DP) RAM 4500/5500 Cab Chassis vehicles that are equipped with Altec service bodies or AT-series aerial device fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Nos. 126 Electronic stability control systems for light vehicles and 208 Occupant crash protection.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from General Motors that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety, compliance, or emissions in a vehicle you possess that is equipped with Altec equipment. These vehicles may have a brake pressure sensor assembly that may allow brake fluid to leak beyond the diaphragm seal into the brake pressure switch.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford Motor Company that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety in a vehicle equipped with Altec equipment. A fuel pump failure can cause a loss of fuel pressure and flow from the fuel tank. This can cause a lack of fuel delivery to the engine and result in an engine stall while driving, which increases the risk of a crash.
