First started around 4 to 6000 miles, felt a shuttering between 50 and 65 mph. Shattering lasted from 10 to maybe 30 seconds let off the fuel and reapplied still there on one or two occasions. RPMs were approximately 2000 RPM shattering stopped in our PMs went down to 1500. This is occurred many times taken to a dealership always get same result, no problem found. Problem always occurs just after a transmission shift which I can tell by RPM. When I apply gas shuttering sometimes increases not always. Also noticed that sometimes shifting on a flat surface 65 miles an hour engine will speed up to almost 2000 RPM and when it goes to shift back, I get a clunk or sometimes a shutter normal cruising is about 1500 RPM at 65 mile an hour. I didn’t notice towing an empty trailer about 2600 pounds shattering seemed worse. With no Trailer I sometimes get erratic shifting where RPM goes 1500 to 2000 to 2500 and then back down again then back up again then it can shift all the way back to 1500 RPM still maintaining 65 mph. Also another problem may be connected to transmission, but I have pulled out into traffic pushed on the pedal and it feels like the truck has no power push on the pedal a little bit more still no power and all of a sudden it’s like everything kicks in RPMs, increase rapidly and truck accelerates extremely fast, throwing things off the dash moving things on the floorboard. Sometimes I see that a downshift occurs and RPMs increase other times I see RPM staying right at the 2000 mark and it still occurs almost got rear ended a couple of times. Check engine light has been on one dealership said they pulled over 40 codes. Still they all claim can’t duplicate problem. Yes I agree it is random but with me watching telemeter and County shift points biggest problem area is fourth gear fifth gear and sixth gear.

Transmission Control Valve failed causing my vehicle to drop from 70 miles per hour below 40 miles per hour rapidly on the highway/interstate which could have caused a fatal crash. Called OnStar and was told my code showing was P0747 meaning service now. I called dealerships to get an appt next morning and this happened in the evening and was told the soonest I could get in was a week away, most was longer than that. I did worked in and was told my TCV needed to be replaced. I was told this is a common problem with this truck but when I contacted GM they told me they could only do a 30% courtesy discount because my 2400 Chevy Silverado 2500HD already had 83,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. I have researched this and NHTSA already has a bulletin in place for this same issue but it didn’t include my VIN so they told me there was nothing more than can be done. This is a huge safety risk and concern. My daughter and wife could have been driving my truck and it could have caused a very bad wreck. My vehicle had no prior warning until this happened. My vehicle did say reduced engine performance and my check engine light came on during the event but nothing prior. Now my truck shifts hard and gets hot fast. We opted not to drive and took it to a local dealership for repair due to the risk of injury if we continued to drive it to us and others. We are not put out a vehicle and monthly payment as the part is on back order. GM pretty much is brushing us off and told us we can file a complaint with NHTSA if we feel like it’s something more that needs done. Bulletin number in place for this issue on other VINS is N242454441. I don’t want this to happen to others so I wanted to report it plus I feel like GM should have cover total cost especially with it being a known issue. Thanks

While driving the vehicle, the vehicle jolted and made a clunk noise. The check engine light came on accompanied by a message on the Dash stating "Reduce acceleration, Drive with Care". The vehicle went into "limp mode", and appeared to be engaged in a single gear. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 30 mph when the transmission malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to my local Chevy dealer, where they scanned the vehicle and determined that the Valve Body was the issue, based on the scan result. The vehicle is a 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Gas). It has 29k miles on it. The vehicle was purchased as a "certified Pre-owned" (lease return). Within 20 miles of being driven from the dealer after purchase, I experienced a jolt & clunk. The failure occured 42 miles later.

While driving in heavy interstate traffic on March 18, 2026, the vehicle suddenly downshifted hard to 2nd gear, locking the rear wheels and causing the vehicle to slide out of my lane. The truck then entered limp mode and appeared to be stuck in 2nd gear. I immediately called my chevy dealer to make an appointment to drop the truck off. While researching, I found there was a recall for the same vehicle symptoms, but my truck falls outside of the recall. The truck is currently at the dealership for a valve body replacement, due to a KNOWN issue with the Allision transmission where TSB's have been issued. Chevrolet should be more proactive and recall the trucks, and replace the transmissions instead of a bandaid fix, before someone with less driving awareness/experience is involved in an accident

My 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Bison ZR2 (VIN [XXX] ) suddenly lost all power steering, acceleration, and propulsion while driving my children to school at approximately 8:00 AM on March 16, 2026. The truck came to a complete stop with no warning lights or prior indication. This matches the exact ‘critical issue with the engine and transmission system’ alert I received from OnStar Advanced Diagnostics the same morning. Steering was completely unresponsive and I had no acceleration. My children were passengers — this was extremely dangerous. I have not driven the vehicle since and have requested towing to the dealer. Please investigate under any open probes into 2024 Silverado HD power-loss and steering failures. While accelerating to merge onto the highway, the transmission attempted a shift twice and could not complete the shift. That process causes an aggressive deceleration with each shift attempt. It then slowed, turned on the check engine light and displayed "Reduced Power Mode" - i.e. went into limp mode. The dealer pulled code P0747. The repair is a full transmission rebuild. I did not experience wheel lock up like other people have, but this is the same problem that has been heavily documented.

When driving, between the speeds of 40-50mph, the wheels would lock up without warning. This happened 4 times during the month of January, sometimes in 4wd. This occurred at speed when the vehicle seemed to be upshifting. Control of the vehicle would be lost during the lockup as the wheels would stop rotation entirely and rather violently. Check engine light came on after the 4th incident, reducing power and a code of P0747 "Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Stuck On". The transmission valve body was repaired by the local Chevrolet dealership under powertrain warranty. This is a known issue on previous years of this truck with the same transmission but has not been expanded to cover this vehicle. Thankfully, I was able to maintain contorol and was not in traffic when this occurred. I notified the dealer that the vehicle was shifting very hard during the last visit but no codes or issues were found at that time indicating an issue.

My 2024 Chevrolet 2500HD Duramax experienced a forced emissions derate event with a speed-limited countdown. The vehicle suddenly lost normal operating capability and became unsafe and undrivable. The truck was disabled in Enid, Oklahoma and had to be recovered and transported to a dealership. Prior to failure, the vehicle showed abnormal DEF/emissions behavior. The failure involves the SCR/DEF emissions system. I later confirmed this vehicle has a completed Product Emissions Recall for SCR Fault Detection. Despite that recall, the emissions system failed and triggered a derate and loss-of-mobility event. The truck is currently at Classic Chevrolet in Owasso, OK for diagnosis.

The differential, front right axil "housing" is rusted to the point that it is pitting. The rust completely covers the entire right axil housing and does not come close to matching the light corrosion when compared to the rest of the differential or anywhere else on the vehicle. These indicators lead me to believe the housing was in a corrosive environment prior to being installed onto the differential where both the internal and external surfaces of the housing were exposed to same corrosive environment. Several concerns: If the inside of the axil housing is rusted as bad as the outside, the integrity of the axil has been compromised; Internal rust contamination will lead to premature failure; the housing was not properly heat-treated; no vehicle should be delivered brand new with this level of rust on any part. The issue was pointed out to GM shortly after purchased new. The vehicle has been kept in a non-corrosive environment since it was purchased, and GM refuses to assess the internal integrity of the axil housing and refuse to install a new housing. I am cautious about towing heavy loads since I do not want risk towing 21,000 lbs. if or when the housing fails. I have seen other Silverado, 2500 HDs with the same issue. As an experienced Airframe and Powerplant mechanic with automotive experience, I would never allow a vehicle to operate with this level of contamination unless I could confirm the integrity of the housing via nondestructive inspection and thickness measurements. Or should I just start towing and wait to see if it fails?

My truck had approximately 55,000 miles on it when the incident happened. I pulled out of a store and began going down the road and the rear wheels locked up slamming everything forward and the truck and leaving us almost rear ended. The truck was stuck in one gear after breaking the tires free with check engine lights flashing and the dash saying reduced power. It has since been at the dealership for 3 months waiting on a valve body with no end in sight. There is apparently a national back order on these faulty parts because of how common this high speed rear wheel lockup is so I am left without a vehicle or an end in sight.

While towing my travel trailer at 55 mph the truck rear tires locked up causing an alerting situation. The transmission automatically shifted out of tow/haul mode, the CEL illuminated and the following message appeared on the dash "reduced acceleration condition, drive with caution". This event happened a total of 3 times within a 20 mile distance. Because it was a short burst and I was traveling on a straight section of roadway, the risk of accident was moderate. This would have been a high risk of danger if I were on a curving downhill section of roadway. The situation was confirmed by my local dealer through a diagnostic check exhibiting a P0747 and P0700 error code. There were no CELs or other warnings prior to the lockup. The diagnosis was a problem with the transmission valve body. A new valve body was ordered and arrived 14 days later. After the new VB was installed the symptoms appear to be gone after driving about 50 miles.

My business work truck started not shifting properly. I dropped it off at Mirak Chevrolet in Arlington, MA on 4/29/25 and they diagnosed the vehicle needing a valve body part # 24065357. GM/Chevrolet has been unable to source this part and was unable to provide an eta. I immediately contacted GM and my case # is [XXX]. Then it was approved and escalated for a new transmission and same issue unable to source part and no eta. This is my business vehicle that has not been operable since [XXX] due to a manufacturer issue. No fault on my end. This is a brand new vehicle that should not have these type of issues. I have lost revenue, income, jobs, and I don't have a replacement vehicle. I have a loan on this vehicle that I am making payments towards but there is no end in sight. I spoke to 2 different Chevrolet dealers service writers, the 1st did noy have a transmission but told me this was a known issue that the valve body for the transmissions fails and recommended another dealer. The dealer notified transmission valve block failed a known problem with the valve block being on back order due to this issue. The truck know sits at the shop awaiting repair. Owner from brand new (16 miles) multiple complaints through ownership of harsh shifting, jerky throttle on and off, excessive engine braking, and have been stuck on the side of the road 3x due to the same situation. Never was a code thrown so I was continuously told there’s “nothing wrong.” On [XXX] I was driving [XXX] out of Denver making the climb towards [XXX] to home. As I had my cruise control set at 65, out of nowhere my truck locked up what seemed to be the rear wheels completely, causing my rear end to sway violently. I immediately slowed down and pulled over with no indications or lights being illuminated on my dash. I turned the truck off and let it sit for 10 minutes and restarted it. Having no issues I signaled back onto [XXX] and the truck accelerated to nearly 65 with no issues. As I hit 62 on the dash it again locked up the rear tires. I again pulled over, this time questioning what could be causing this, knowing the first time indeed was what happened. I put my truck into park, and still had no warning lights or check engine light. I then put my truck into neutral and then clicked the auto button thinking maybe something with the rear end is locking my brakes up. Upon doing so I again entered the roadway, big mistake on my part as this time upon reaching 60+mph all 4 tires simultaneously locked up. How I didn’t roll, I have no idea. Easily the scariest set of events I’ve ever faced while driving and that’s considering all of the insane drivers on our roadways today. I literally lodged a complaint with Chevrolet the same day I bought this truck before ever even leaving the dealers lot, and have had zero communication from them other than myself reaching out. They have ignored the problem literally from day one and it easily could’ve cost me or someone else their life. I’m appalled that to date they are still selling these trucks, replacing the valve bodies with the exact same faulty ones, and allowed to put others in danger constantly. The truck went to the dealer for recalls on March 21, 2025. The Truck is still within the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Recalls consisted of tailgate fix, TCM & ECM updates. The truck was returned to me approximately a week later. I noticed a significant loss of power. I took the truck back to the dealer and told them about the issue. They had it another 2 days and returned it to me, saying there was nothing wrong. Approximately a week later, I was driving down the road and the check engine light appeared on the gauge cluster. I immediately drove the truck to the dealer, and the DTCs were emissions-related. The service advisor, Jeff, told me to keep driving the truck, and it might go away. I drove the truck home, 20 mins away from the dealer, and as I pulled into my driveway, a message on the gauge cluster said, "Add engine oil." I notified the Dealer of the issue immediately. The next morning, I added a gallon of oil, and there were still no signs of oil on the dipstick. At that time, I noticed there was no coolant in the reservoir, but engine oil residue, and a collapsed upper radiator hose. The truck was towed to the dealer later that day. After inspection, the dealer said the oil cooler had failed. They sent me the service bulletin, but that bulletin only says, "oil and coolant mix," nothing about the disappearance of the fluid, and no explanation of the emissions codes. The dealer and GM's corporate office are refusing the share the diagnostic data on how they have concluded that the oil cooler has failed. Their solution is to replace the oil cooler and see what happens. This truck has 1000 miles left on the warranty, and the parts/procedures expire at the end of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Recap: GM will not share diagnostic data, and they are refusing to extend coverage, yet their remedy is to experiment with my $70,000 truck, and the moment this truck is out of warranty, they are going to wash their hands of it. That is not acceptable.
