1991 Plymouth Grand Voyager Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THIS CONTROL MODULE CONTROLS REAR VENT WINDOWS, OVERHEAD LIGHTS, ELEC. ODOMETER, TRIP ODOMETER, EXT. TEMPERATURE AND COMPASS. NO ALTERATIONS OR REPAIRS HAVE EVER BEEN MADE TO THIS AREA OF THE VEHICLE. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE MODULE BEGAN TO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF HEAVY SMOKE AND ODOR. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD, SHUT OFF THE CAR, PULLED DOWN THE CONSOLE AND PULLED THE MASTER MULTI-PIN PLUG. WERE I ON A BUSY HIGHWAY THE SMOKE FROM THIS EVENT (DIRECTLY ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD AND OVERHEAD OF THE DRIVER) WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.*AK
