BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

The defect: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2019-2026 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The risk: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 14, 2026. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 90TV. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 23, 2025.

2025 Audi S6 Sportback e-tron. On approximately August 19, 2026, the dealer installed Service Action 06K2 (software update). Immediately afterward, the vehicle began failing to charge reliably on my home Level 2 charger — repeated plug/unplug attempts (up to ~30) often fail to initiate charging. The fault also occurs intermittently at public DC fast charging stations. The vehicle charged without issue for the prior year of ownership. On September 11, 2026, an Audi regional case manager acknowledged a known issue with this update and stated a corrective software update is targeted for November 2026, but offered no interim remedy. No crash or injury; vehicle remains difficult to keep charged for normal use.

The electronic door locking system on my 2025 Audi S5 has repeatedly and unpredictably locked me inside the vehicle and, on separate occasions, locked me out of the vehicle, with no consistent trigger. The electronic central door locking system/mechanism (door latch actuators and associated locking control module) has malfunctioned, intermittently failing to unlock (trapping occupants inside) and failing to lock (locking me out). This matches a known issue reported in Audi TSB 2078793/4, affecting 2025-2026 A5, S5, Q5, and SQ5 models, and is also the subject of a filed class action lawsuit (Parikh v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Case No. 2:26-cv-03288, C.D. Cal.) covering this exact vehicle and model year. Yes — a "Central Locking: Malfunction" warning message has appeared on the vehicle's display.
