My car sat overnight and the next afternoon I drove approx. 3 miles and got a warning to at the engine “coolant temperature too high: let engine run while vehicle is stationary”. I took the car to the local dealership who diagnosed it as “coolant migration” and quoted a repair cost of nearly $5200. The vehicle is 2022 with not even 26k miles and well maintained at the same dealership. I was informed it was a known issue but and they service manager would take the matter up with Audi corporate given the vehicle is 6 months out of warranty. That was all in Friday 8/10/26. Today, the service advisor called and told me it would be a goodwill repair and I would be responsible for 66% of the repair cost or roughly $3500. I am extremely unhappy and would like to pursue legal action

The contact owns a 2022 Audi S6. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start-up after multiple attempts. The “Depress Brake Pedal and Press START button” messages appeared on the instrument panel even though the contact was following the instructions. The contact called an independent mechanic where the vehicle was purchased and was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
