I WAS INFORMED ABOUT AN ENGINE COMPONENT RECALL INVOLVING THE WATER PUMP THAT WAS USED WHEN REPLACING THE TIMING COMPONENTS AT THE VEHICLE'S 100,000 MILE SERVICE INTERVAL. THE VEHICLE TENDS TO START RUNNING A LITTLE OVER NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE WHILE SITTING STILL FOR MORE THAN 5-8 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IN WEATHER OVER 60 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE VEHICLE ALSO RUNS AT HIGHER TEMPERATURE THAN NORMAL WHEN DRIVING IN SLOWER TRAFFIC (UNDER 35MPH) I BELIEVE THE WATER PUMP USED IS PART OF THE RECALL.

DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT INTERMITTENTLY TURNS OFF OR ON BUT CURRENTLY IS PERMANENTLY OFF.HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS TO BE QUITE COMMON AMONG 2000 TO 2003 TT OWNERS. WHEN TURNING ON THE HEADLIGHTS WITH THE SWITCH AT TIMES THEY WOULD GO ON IMMEDIATELY BUT MOSTLY I WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE SWITCH MANY TIMES BEFORE THE LIGHTS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WOULD GO ON. TRIED REPLACING BULB BUT THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS? HAVE SEEN THE MONEY PEOPLE HAVE SPENT TRYING TO REPAIR THIS AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS AND IT IS UNFAIR TO TT OWNERS! HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR IT SINCE 2007.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
