THE CAR HAS BEEN OVERHEATING SINCE 83600 MILES. WE CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT AND IT STILL DID THE SAME THING. TOOK TO CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. WENT GOT THE CAR AND PAID PRICE 3 DAYS LATER IT WAS OVERHEATING AND ANTIFREEZE WAS DISAPPEARING. FILLED THE RADIATOR UP WITH ANTIFREEZE AND IT DISAPPEARED AGAIN. WE CHANGED THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE AND FLUSHED THE RADIATOR AND TRIED IT AGAIN. THE COOLANT DISAPPEARED AGAIN AND NO SIGN OF A LEAK. WHERE IS THE ANTIFREEZE GOING. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE HEAD GASKET OR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. I AM UNEMPLOYED AND DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO HAVE THIS DONE. I CAN NOT FIND WORK WITHOUT A VEHICLE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AT 75000 MILES. THIS CAR RAN LIKE A CHARM UNTIL I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT THE CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY PUT THE WRONG OIL IN THE ENGINE. BY THE WAY THIS ENGINE IS THE NORTHSTAR ENGINE. THE MILEAGE NOW IS AT 84000 MILES. ALL CADILLAC DEALERS I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO PREVIOUSLY HAVE ALWAYS USED MOBILE OIL. THEY WERE TRYING TO TELL ME THIS OTHER OIL IS THE SAME. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS NOT THE SAME. IT WRECKED MY CAR AND NOW I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX IT. THIS CAR HAS THE YEARS ON IT BUT NOT THE MILES FOR THE YEARS. WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO TEAR AN ENGINE APART WITH THIS LOW OF MILES ON IT. CARS ARE TO LAST TO 250,000 MILES WELL THIS ONE HAS NOT EVEN MADE IT TO 100,000 MILES. I WOULD REALLY LIKE SOME HELP GETTING THIS VEHICLE FIXED. IF THIS IS THE WAY CADILLAC'S ARE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CADILLAC IN MY LIFE. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH THE ENGINE QUIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE I-35W BRIDGE OVER THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN MINNEAPOLIS. I MANAGED TO COAST SAFELY TO A STOP ON AN EXIT RAMP ABOUT 200 FT FROM BOBBY AND STEVE'S AUTO WORLD. THEY SPENT FOUR HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEY FOUND THE ECS FUSE HAD BLOWN BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED ITS FAILURE EVEN AFTER FOUR HOURS OF WORKING ON THE CAR. THEY REPLACED THE FUSE AND EVERYTHING BEGAN WORKING PROPERLY. THE PROBLEM HAD NOT RECURRED AS OF THIS DATE. I BOUGHT A PACKAGE OF FIVE10 AMP REPLACEMENT FUSES AND PUT THEM IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT ECS FUSE SUPPLIES THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE, THE AGR VALVE, THE EVAPORATOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE, THE IGNITION ONE RELAY, THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR, AND THE TRANS AXLE. *TR

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This Preliminary Information communicates to the dealer the process for downloading or updating operating software for the Tire Pressure Monitor, Active Fuel Injector tester, multi media tester, PICO Scope, GR8 starting/charging tester and Vehicle Data Recorder tools, giving website address and step by step instructions to complete the update.
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning blows warm air. Before calling General Motors Technical Assistance Center technician will need to have high and low pressures, outside temperature, humidity, and vent temperature.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Vehicle Wide Programming (VWP) is a new process to update software on GM Vehicles. It provides the ability via a single selection within Techline Connect to first identify which modules need updating and then proceed to updating affected modules (with some exceptions). The updating of modules is completed in parallel instead of the technician needing to update one module at a time. This allows a more streamlined approach for dealers and customers.
POWER TRAIN
GM is receiving damaged (cracked or broken) transmission cores returned to the reman facilities. The damage is being caused either in the removal process by the technician, or inadequate packaging or shipping. This bulletin advises the dealers to be more careful not to damage the transmissions during removal and to package the core properly for return.
ENGINE; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
This service bulletin advises of a new fuel injection cleaner kit used for decarbonizing the intake valves to correct conditions of rough idle, Crank no start, extended crank or misfire, MIL with DTCs, and explains how Top Tier fuels should be used to reduce carbon build-up.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
