The defect: FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RANGER TRUCKS BUILT FROM JANUARY 25, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 25, 2011 AT THE TWIN CITIES ASSEMBLY PLANT, AND SERVICE PARTS DISTRIBUTED TO DEALERS FOR CERTAIN 2004 THROUGH 2011 MODEL YEAR RANGER TRUCKS, 2002 THROUGH 2005 MODEL YEAR EXCURSION VEHICLES, AND 2002 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR F-250, F-350, F-450, AND F-550 TRUCKS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS SHIPPED WITH A SUBCOMPONENT (SLIDER) THAT MAY EXPERIENCE DEFORMATION. A MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WITH A DEFORMED SLIDER MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHTS, HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL FLASHERS AND/OR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO ACTIVATE.
The risk: NON-FUNCTIONING LIGHTS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The risk: SHOULD THE ENGINE STALL, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-450. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER IN NEVADA WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO THE REPAIRED. A COMPLETE DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND REPAIRED AN UNKNOWN FAILURE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHEN IT WAS STARTED AND THEN HAD TO RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A THIRD INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED EIGHT INJECTORS. THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED FOR A WHILE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED ANOTHER TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATE 125,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

IN 2006 34,918 MILES FORD HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP ON MY 2005 F450 TRUCK. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE INJECTORS SEVERAL TIMES ALSO REPLACED THE TURBO. THEY HAVE FOUND RUST IN THE SYSTEM, THIS IS CAUSED FROM THE LINER IN THE TANK HAS FALLEN APART. THE TRUCK RUNS REAL BAD, BUCKING AND LOSING POWER. THE MILEAGE ON THE TRUCK NOW IS 125000. I HAVE CHANGED MY FUEL FILTER MANY TIMES AND WITHIN MINS AFTER CHANGING THE BUCKING STARTS. I LIVE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO AREA AND I KNOW THEY REGULATE THE FUEL. THE SHOP WANTS $4000.00 TO CHANGE MY INJECTORS, THEN $2100.00 TO CHANGE THE TANK. THIS IS SAID WHEN A FUEL TANK FALLS APART IN SIDE AND THEY WANT YOU TO PAY THE COST. I PAID $50000 WHEN I BOUGHT THIS F450. I KNOW I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT IF I HAVE TO PAY THIS BILL. MY 3 GMC TRUCKS ARE RUNNING GREAT, AND SO WAS OUR DODGE. These SKUs are Trailer Brake Control Modules. The customer communication requested return of unsold inventory due to an internal software issue. The internal software issue leads to a false check trailer brake message and Trailer Brake Controller fault whenever the brake pedal is pressed. This will cause the part to be replaced, due to repetitive dashboard warning light, even though it sends signals to the trailer brakes properly.
