The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2003-2018 Forest River Berkshire, Charleston, Rockport, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Riverstone, Salem, Sandpiper, Sierra, Vengeance, Wildcat, Wildwood, XLR Boost, Cargo Mate, Continental Cargo, motorhomes, recreational trailers, toyhaulers, cargo trailers and restroom trailers and 2009-2018 Coachmen Mirada, Pursuit, Concord, Leprechaun, Freelander, Orion and Prism motorhomes, 2009-2017 Coachmen Apex and Catalina recreational trailers, and 2013-2017 Shasta Oasis and Revere recreational trailers, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Forest River will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on December 27, 2017. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440, or Kidde customer service toll free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. The defect: FOREST RIVER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MY 2003-2006 MOTOR HOMES, FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION. THE REFRIGERATOR MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
The risk: IF THIS SOLUTION IS EXPOSED TO AN IGNITION SOURCE UNDER CERTAIN SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES, IT CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
The remedy: FOREST RIVER IS WORKING WITH DOMETIC TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 08E032). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST THE OWNER IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. MASSIVE PIN BOX FAILURE. THE PART THE KING PING WHICH ATTACHES THE TRUCK TO FIFTH WHEEL. THE PIN BOX METAL SEPARATED AND THE MAIN SUPPORT BEAM BENT AND CRACKED.

I HAD A TIRE FAILURE WHILE MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS A TRAILER I BOUGHT USED, AND I REALIZE THAT I AM WAY OUT OF WARRANTY. MY ISSUE IS, THAT THIS UNIT HAS THE WRONG TIRE SIZE, LOAD RANGE, AND WHEEL SIZE. LOOKING AT THE DATE, I ASSUME THEY ARE ORIGINAL TIRES. THEY ARE ST205/75R15 LR C ON 15 X % INCH WHEELS. THE STICKER ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAILER SHOWS THEY SHOULD BE, ST225/75R15 LR D ON 15 X ^ INCH WHEELS. THE STICKER IS OLD AND QUITE FADED, BUT, I CAN READ ENOUGH TO DETERMINE WHAT SHOULD BE THERE. THE TRAILER HAS A GVW OF 10840, AND LR C TIRES DON'T ADD UP TO THAT. I AM IN COMMUNICATION WITH FOREST RIVER, BUT, DO NOT HAVE A SOLID ANSWER YET. IN READING SOME RV FORUMS, IT SEEMS THAT THIS MANUFACTURER HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST. ( UNDER RATED TIRES ) I AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE THE TRAILER SAFE TO TOW, AND AM ASKING FOREST RIVER TO PROVIDE ME WITH ACCURATE DETAILS OF WHAT THIS UNIT SHOULD HAVE ON IT. I WAS LUCKY TO ONLY HAVE MINOR TRAILER DAMAGE, AND WAS IN A RELATIVELY SAFE POSITION TO CHANGE THE TIRE. I NOW KNOW THAT, DESPITE HOW A TIRE LOOKS, THERE IS A USABLE AGE FOR TRAILER TIRES. I HAVE ALSO REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED FROM, BUT WITH NO RESPONSE. THANK YOU. *TR

TRAVEL TRAILER PARKED AT RV CAMPSITE. DURING MORNING HOURS, REFRIGERATOR CAUGHT FIRE BEHIND UNIT DURING NORMAL USE. OCCUPANTS SMELLED SMOKE AND CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT. BEFORE FIRE WAS CONTAINED, ENOUGH DAMAGE WAS DONE TO TOTAL TRAVEL TRAILER. REFRIGERATOR IS LOCATED BY DOOR ON UNIT. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE OCCUPANTS WERE ASLEEP, INJURIES OR DEATH COULD HAVE OCCURRED. WHEN FILING CLAIM WITH INSURANCE COMPANY, WE FOUND THAT THE REFRIGERATOR HAD BEEN RECALLED BY DOMETIC. NO RECALL NOTICE HAD EVER BEEN RECEIVED FROM DOMETIC OR THE DEALER (FUNTIME RV). TRAVEL TRAILER IS A TOTAL LOSS AND EVEN THOUGH DAMAGES ARE COVERED, IF THIS HAD OCCURRED AT A DIFFERENT TIME OR LOCATION, THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. *TR

1. TOWING A 27FT. TRAVEL TRAILER IN THE RIGHT LANE OF A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. 2. CARLISLE TRAILER TIRE BLEW ON TRAVEL TRAILER; PULLED OFF ON SHOULDER AND CHANGED WITH SPARE. 3. THE TIRES ARE ~ 2 YEARS OLD WITH ~5000 MILES. FOUND THAT ALL FOUR OF THE TRAILER TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE (1 BLEW, 3 OUT OF ROUND). ALL FOUR WERE REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURE'S TIRE. LEARNED ABOUT THE POOR QUALITY OF CARLISLE TRAILER TIRES FROM TIRE DEALERS AND THE INTERNET. LOTS OF STORIES REGARDING CARLISLE TRAILER TIRES BLOWING ON VARIOUS RV WEB SITES (EXAMPLE RV.NET). SENT ALL 4 TIRES TO CARLISLE FOR A WARRANTY CLAIM. WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED, NO MANUFACTURES DEFECTS, AND AN IMPACT WOUND CAUSED THE BLOW OUT. *TR
