2024 Honda Prologue, 434 miles outside of warranty, CV joints failing and requires over $1,000 out of pocket. This is known defect from the manufacturer and it just showed up a few weeks ago. There are hundreds of Honda customers with the same issue. Honda has not issued a recall and refuses to qualify it under the limited warranty.
The cv axle is clicking. The out cv boot is torn and leaking grease.
On 7/16/26, while driving, I heard loud clicking noises when turning and sometimes while driving straight. I took the vehicle to Coggin Deland Honda for inspection and they determined that both driveshafts are broken and need replacement. The service advisor shared that this is an ongoing problem with 2024 Honda Prologues that are not being covered by warranty. He also shared that there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue, because they knew about this issue when building the vehicle. We have filed a claim through Honda corporate. The safety of myself and children is at risk because I am no longer able to drive the car because it poses inherent risk which can cause a vehicle crash or even death. The vehicle component has been inspected by a Honda certified mechanic. The repairs cost around 2500. This is unacceptable and should be covered by the warranty.
Since I purchased the car new, there is a loud clicking sound when turning the car left or right.

Both front axels have been making loud clicking noise and clunking vibration while turning since the vehicle roughly reached 2000 miles. The vehicle was taken into Honda Auto Center of Bellevue, and I was told that is was a known issue, Honda was no longer allowing warranty replacements of axels and that is was "just a noise the car will make".
My 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX]) only has 16K miles on this vehicle. Both front half-shaft CV joints are failing and have been failing for the last SEVERAL months by manifesting a persistent and worsening very loud clicking when loading and unloading the drive-train, driving up hill and executing any type of turn maneuver. I've complained numerous times to the Honda Dealership here in Seattle start 4Q 2025. They informed me that this has been an ongoing "known" problem with this specific model over the entire model 3 year offering from 2024-26, but at that time Honda America had no revised part number to effectively mitigate the problem. They initially replaced the failed CV half-shafts with the same part number, only to have those parts fail again. Honda America subsequently instructed all Honda dealerships maintenance depts to stop replacing these parts until a newly revise part number is released. I was instructed to contact Honda America at their national customer service at 800-999-1009. (My Case # [XXX]). I've spoken with at least 20-30 difference Honda reps over the last 6 months with no commitment to do anything to fix this potentially dangerous problem. When the outer CV joint completely fails, it could potentially turn into a pole-vault stick and literally flip the car at freeway speeds and definitely cause a catastrophic loss of control at freeway speeds or at any velocity/momentum whatsoever. The very disappointing fact is there is NOW a revised/vastly improved Part Number (Honda Part #86284282) that offers customers a fix to this very well known problem. Honda has not officially issued a recall so dealers are not able to perform this fix under warranty. My friend has this same car and her 2024 Honda Prologue is making this same exact clunking noise. The contact owns a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and a transmission software update was performed, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact was concerned that the failure might recur and no longer drove the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.
Cv axles on the car has been clicking when turning and driving forward and back, they have been replaced once on once side. I’ve taken the car to the dealer ship 4 times Monday may 4 2026 was the last time I took it. It’s currently there as I’m typing this, the driver axle also locked in my once when Turing in a parking lot making loud pops. The last 3 times dealer ship said they can’t do nothing.

I hear a sharp clicking noise when I make turns, indicating an issue with the CV joint. The car had this issue when I leased it brand new. I didn’t think much of the sound because I had previously had a routine maintenance checkup at Honda and they never mentioned any issues. Car had less than 15k miles on it. Upon researching, I realized that this is a potentially major issue with the vehicle, and could cause harm on the road in the even the front axle fails.
My 2024 Honda Prologue is experiencing ongoing drivetrain issues that include noise, vibration, clunking, and a binding sensation. These symptoms occur during turning, accelerating, and at low speeds. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, and they inspected it, but they told me there is no solution available yet and advised me to wait. The dealer has not replaced any parts, and the issue continues. At this time, I have not experienced loss of control or steering failure, but the symptoms are persistent and concerning. Based on widespread reports from other Prologue owners, this appears to be a developing pattern that may indicate a defect in the axle, driveshaft, CV joint, or related front‑end components. I am reporting this so NHTSA is aware of the issue and can investigate.
On 04/15/2026, at approximately 13,130 miles, my 2024 Honda Prologue began making a loud, repetitive clicking, popping, and clunking noise from the front axle area. This mechanical noise is highly pronounced when turning sharply at low speeds, such as pulling out of a parking space or turning at an intersection. I took the vehicle to Delta Honda in Antioch, CA on 04/16/2026. They acknowledged the noise but refused to replace the part, citing Honda's guidance that this issue does not impact normal driving. I am filing this complaint because this is a severe safety defect. The CV joint is a critical drivetrain component, and these symptoms are classic indicators of premature mechanical failure. I am highly concerned that the CV axle could fail catastrophically while driving at higher speeds or in traffic. A structural failure of this component could result in a sudden loss of motive power, wheel lock-up, or a total loss of steering control, putting myself, my passengers, and other motorists at imminent risk of a crash. Honda's failure to provide a permanent, safe remedy for this widespread and known defect is unacceptable.
I took delivery of my new 2024 Honda Prologue in 2024. After driving approximately 2,000 miles, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the front axle area, especially during low-speed turns and parking maneuvers. I first brought the vehicle to AutoNation Honda in Costa Mesa, California, the dealership where I purchased it. They inspected the vehicle and reported finding no issue, so no repairs were performed. As the noise continued and worsened over the following months, I took the vehicle to Jerry Seiner Honda in San Juan Capistrano, California. Their service department diagnosed the clicking noise as originating from both front axles. Both front axles were replaced on October 28, 2025, which initially resolved the problem. However, the identical clicking noise has now returned. As of April 18, 2026, the condition is present again and requires further repair. THIS CONDITION IS NOT SAFE. The vehicle is still under lease with 19 payments remaining. This appears to be a recurring issue with the 2024 Honda Prologue. Vehicle Information: Year: 2024 Make: Honda Model: Prologue Touring Mileage:10300 VIN: [XXX] Description of Issue: The vehicle produces a noticeable clicking/popping noise when turning left or right, especially at low speeds such as in parking lots or during tight turns. The noise is consistent and reproducible. The issue appears to originate from the front axle/drivetrain area and raises concern about potential failure of a critical drivetrain component. Safety Concern: This defect may indicate premature wear or failure of the CV joint or axle assembly. A failure of this component while driving could result in loss of power to the wheels and create a dangerous driving condition, increasing the risk of an accident. Dealer Response: I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership. There is a loud clicking sound coming from the front axle(s) while steering around corners. It began within 30 days of taking possession of the new vehicle in mid-April 2025 and has continued to this day, April 6, 2026 with 11k mileage on the car. Furthermore it has become progressively worse, whereby early on the steering had to be near the fully clocked left or right position, now it only has to be about 30% in either direction for the clicking to be audibly and vibrationally noticeable. Two Honda dealerships near Orlando FL have been informed of the issue as well as a case opened (and closed by Honda without my consent) Honda Auto Customer Service. No action has been taken to correct it. I am consistently advised it is a "known issue" and that the vehicle is "safe to drive". Long story short, Honda is well aware of the issue, but has completely failed to apprise its customer base of any pending solution. They are content to advise us to continue to operate the Prologue and suffer the issue. I've given Honda a year to correct it. I am now concerned to operate the vehicle for fear one or more of the front half shafts is going to come apart at speed.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was test-driven, and the dealer confirmed that the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound while turning. The contact was informed that it was a common failure; however, no diagnostic information was provided. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was pending approval. The contact stated that the vehicle was covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 51,064.
When driving vehicle and making left or right turns clicking and knocking noises can be heard and felt. It is consistent with both wide and tight turns. Not intermittent. No outside factors causing noises. Concern was validated by finding Honda forums detailing other owners having the same issue. Some owners have had axle and cv joint engineering problems stated to be the case by Honda and have had replacement parts installed when they can be acquired in a timely manner. Others like myself cannot get a dealership to recognize the issue upon inspection so no action can be taken. There are no warning lights or messages displayed. Honda states publicly that this is not a safety hazard but it could result in sudden failure of those parts which would prove to be a dangerous safety hazard. Vehicle would be made available for inspection upon request. Only Honda has inspected for this issue at this time. No independent repair shop, insurance or law enforcement.
My vehicle constantly receives an error message while driving stating, "SERVICE HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM" and "REDUCED ACCELERATION DRIVE WITH CARE." Error symbols appear on the dashboard that show an orange turtle, a red battery with a big exclamation point through it and and a red car outline with a big exclamation point going through the middle of it. When this happens, the vehicle acceleration is significantly reduced and the regenerative braking or "one-pedal" feature automatically becomes disabled. If you're relying on that system to brake, it will not do so when you need it to and you have to manually press the brake to slow and stop the vehicle. This error clears after a few days of driving but never fails to return. The dealer said they found nothing wrong when I brought it in (when the error wasn't being displayed, of course) but it went back today with the error displayed so they could witness it for themselves. Separately, the vehicle makes an incredibly loud knocking noise when accelerating with the wheel turned. It appears this is coming from the CV joints.
The vehicle experienced multiple serious issues affecting safety and reliability. The 12V battery failed, leaving the vehicle unable to start. In addition, there is a persistent abnormal ratcheting or grinding noise when turning, indicating a possible drivetrain or steering-related defect. An interior component near the rearview mirror also detached while driving, creating a distraction and safety concern. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for repair on February 21, 2026 and has remained out of service for over 30 days with no confirmed repair completion date. There have been communication issues with the dealership, including lack of documentation and inconsistent updates regarding the status of the vehicle. Due to the extended downtime, unresolved defects, and safety concerns, the vehicle is unreliable and unusable for its intended purpose.
Front axles/CV Joints make a crunching noise at low speeds when turning left or right. 2024 Honda Prologue with less than 5,500 miles on it. I'm afraid this may become a safety issue the more I drive the vehicle. I have not had the vehicle inspected yet at a dealer or otherwise, but I've noticed this issue reported in multiple Honda Prologue forums. There are no warning lights, but the noise coming from both wheel wells is consistant and noticeable.
The front axles in my 2024 Honda prologue touring model four-wheel drive I have been clicking and making noises even before 1,000 miles. I have spoken to the dealer several times and Honda as well two times. I do not know if this is dangerous but it seems dangerous to me. I am used to driving older vehicles that I maintain to almost new standards. I am honestly more nervous about driving this car at highway speeds than my 2006 BMW 330 I with 155,000 mi. I have been told that there is no fix for the situation at this point. I purchased a Honda the second brand new one in one year believing this was a great company that would stand by their product. My other vehicle is a 2024 Honda CRV touring model hybrid. I completely love this vehicle. I am now believing that they are not such a great company and they have made a mistake with this vehicle. I realize that this is not made by Honda but it is sold by Honda and they should not be so negligent in dealing with these issues.
