2024 Honda Prologue Suspension Problems

I currently lease a 2024 Honda Prologue, and for the past year, both front axles have been clicking. This is a well-documented problem, and it has been determined that the axles have a build problem and need to be replaced. The clicking sound started off on the left side only when making sharp turns, and now both axles make loud clicking noises all the time. This obviously is unacceptable for a vehicle that I have owned for less than 2 years. I went to Honda and asked them about replacement, and they told me there was no recall and that the axles would not be replaced unless they are leaking (please note that I do not have the ability to check everyday for leaks, as I would assume that is something a mechanic would need to fully investigate). The dealership informed me that the manufacturer does not have new axles built to the point where all cars can have them replaced, and the only thing they can do is to extend the warranty after the 3 years of lease is up, which would make a repair free of charge. This is a moot point, as I am not interested in keeping the car after the lease is up. I believe that the axles have already started to fail, and I am afraid that there could be an accident if the axles completely break down or break apart.This would obviously cause damage to the vehicle and potential harm to myself or to my family. In my opinion, Honda should replace these faulty axles as soon as possible, or in the alternative, should replace the vehicle with one in proper working condition...or lastly, should buy back the vehicle if no safe fix can be performed.

I am experiencing a severe defect involving a recurring clicking and popping noise from the front end of the vehicle when turning at low speeds. This issue is tied to a known premature failure of the front drive axles and constant velocity (CV) joints, which is currently the subject of federal class-action litigation ([XXX], et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc.). The progressive failure of these critical drivetrain components presents an immediate safety risk. Degraded axles and CV joints can lead to sudden loss of propulsion, unexpected steering stiffness, or a complete loss of vehicle control while turning, creating an extreme hazard on public roads. Despite Honda acknowledging this issue internally via a Tech Line Summary Article, the manufacturer has failed to issue a safety recall to replace these defective components with a permanent, structurally sound fix. I am submitting this complaint to urge the NHTSA to open a formal safety investigation into the 2024–2026 Honda Prologue drivetrain assemblies to compel a nationwide safety recall before an axle failure results in an accident. The affected components are the BOTH FRONT DRIVE AXLE/CV JOINT ASSEMBLIES on my 2024 Honda Prologue. This is not merely a suspected problem. After I reported the clicking/popping condition to Honda multiple times, the vehicle was finally inspected by a technician, who determined that BOTH FRONT AXLES WERE BROKEN AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. The original clicking/popping was not present when I obtained the vehicle. It developed afterward and progressively worsened, particularly during turns. After Honda replaced both front axle assemblies, the noise returned within a short period of time. The replacement components now exhibit the same condition and the noises are worse than they were with the original axles. Honda has still not provided an effective repair. This creates a serious safety concern because the drive axles/CV joints are critical drivetrain components responsible for transferring power to the wheels while allowing the wheels to turn and move with the suspension. I am concerned about continued deterioration or another axle/CV-joint failure occurring while driving, potentially resulting in loss of propulsion or vehicle control and endangering me, my passengers, and other motorists. The condition has therefore been confirmed by a Honda technician, resulting in replacement of both front axles. Despite that repair, the same problem has returned and worsened. The vehicle and replacement axle/CV-joint components remain available for inspection by NHTSA or Honda. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages before the original axle failure was discovered. The warning symptom was the persistent mechanical clicking/popping from the front end, especially during turns. That same warning symptom has now returned after both axles were replaced. The replacement parts have not corrected the defect, and Honda has not provided a lasting remedy.

When turning the vehicle, a clicking noise can be heard, intermittently. I have reported this to the dealership, they tell me they heard nothing. The car now has 20,000 miles and will need a tire rotation soon, I will then report it again. It appears the cv joint is the problem with many of these 2024 Honda Prologues. I’ve read, that a broken cv joint could cause loss of power, broken brake lines, and loss of control of the car. This clicking occurs mostly on hard turns, which I avoid due to potential damage and loss of control. There are no warning lights seen for this problem.

My 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX]) produces a loud clicking/knocking noise from the front drive axles when turning, most noticeable during low-speed turns and when accelerating out of a turn. The noise began shortly after I acquired the vehicle at low mileage, consistent with the widely reported front CV joint/axle defect affecting 2024-2026 Prologues. This is a safety concern, not merely a noise. The defect involves internal drive-axle joint irregularities that can progressively worsen and impair propulsion, steering response, and drivability, with risk of eventual axle failure and loss of vehicle control while driving. Honda acknowledged this condition in a XXX dealer Tech Line but directed dealers not to repair it if no visible damage is found, leaving the defect unaddressed. The front-left CV joint/drive axle system malfunctioned. A loud repetitive clicking began during turns at approximately 1,050 miles. The vehicle and components are available for inspection.The condition creates safety concerns because the vehicle sometimes feels unstable while turning and the steering/drivability regularly feels abnormal. The tires have also developed uneven wear, raising concerns about reduced traction and handling.Separately, the vehicle has twice unexpectedly lurched forward from a complete stop. During both incidents, One-Pedal Driving and Auto Hold were active, the Auto Hold indicator was illuminated, and the brake pedal was not being pressed because Auto Hold was maintaining the stop. The vehicle suddenly moved forward without intentional accelerator input, as though the brakes released. I immediately applied the brake. During one incident, the vehicle struck another stopped vehicle, causing significant damage to that vehicle. No damage occurred to my Prologue. These incidents occurred both before and after the CV joint replacement.Hendrick Honda Bradenton confirmed the clicking condition after I brought the vehicle in for service in February 2025. A replacement CV joint arrived and was installed in approximately March 2025. The dealership informed me that replacing the CV joint did not correct the problem. The clicking continues. I was subsequently told I could drive the vehicle without limitations and that there was no safety risk.The vehicle has been inspected by Hendrick Honda Bradenton.Manufacturer, police, insurance inspection details to be added if applicable.There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages before the clicking condition or either unintended-forward-movement incident. The clicking first appeared at approximately 1,050 miles.

My issue is the cv axles , when I am turning clicking noise is coming from the front . I brought the car to the dealership and the told me Honda said not to replace, because is some lawsuit and under investigation .There should be a recall soon with this issue. I can’t give the car back and Honda has the dealer and customer hand tied up. NHTSA this a known issue and Honda and GM new about this and will not help, can this be a safety issue yes , just wait until a wheel comes off when doing 60 miles per hour and somebody gets killed they it will be a recall.

Forward collision assist keeps turning off, saying the front camera needs to be cleaned. Loud cracking/clicking/popping noises from front suspension making low speed turns (left and right). Sounds like the wheels want to fall off. I got this Prologue with 4 miles on it, started making those noises at less than 3K. It sounds so bad! Honda seems to be waiting until someone is seriously injured to fix this issue.

The lane keep assist has never worked. It doesn't not keep you in the lane, it just chimes when you drift out of it. The bigger issue is the axles. I only owned the car for 1 month when the axles started loudly clicking with every turn. Honda is claiming this is just a cosmetic defect and it does not affect safety, but I don't believe that for a second. Clicking axles are NOT normal, and could only indicate signs of deterioration. Not only that, but myself and anyone else with this issue can feel that the drivability is affected. Turns and propulsion are slower as time goes on and the clicking gets louder. Honda knowingly continues to sell these cars for up to $60,000 and no longer offers a remedy for the faulty axles. They now plan to discontinue the vehicle and offer no further support for it, which is completely unnaceptable. This safety defect must be remedied as soon as possible. We should not wait until someone is dead.

VEHICLE LEFT FRONT AXLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS IT HAS TURNED INTO A CRACKING NOISE, I NOTICED GREASE LEAKING FROM THE OUTER AXLE BOOT. On 04/15/2026, at approximately 13,130 miles, my 2024 Honda Prologue began making a loud, repetitive clicking, popping, and clunking noise from the front axle area. This mechanical noise is highly pronounced when turning sharply at low speeds, such as pulling out of a parking space or turning at an intersection. I took the vehicle to Delta Honda in Antioch, CA on 04/16/2026. They acknowledged the noise but refused to replace the part, citing Honda's guidance that this issue does not impact normal driving. I am filing this complaint because this is a severe safety defect. The CV joint is a critical drivetrain component, and these symptoms are classic indicators of premature mechanical failure. I am highly concerned that the CV axle could fail catastrophically while driving at higher speeds or in traffic. A structural failure of this component could result in a sudden loss of motive power, wheel lock-up, or a total loss of steering control, putting myself, my passengers, and other motorists at imminent risk of a crash. Honda's failure to provide a permanent, safe remedy for this widespread and known defect is unacceptable.

I took delivery of my new 2024 Honda Prologue in 2024. After driving approximately 2,000 miles, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the front axle area, especially during low-speed turns and parking maneuvers. I first brought the vehicle to AutoNation Honda in Costa Mesa, California, the dealership where I purchased it. They inspected the vehicle and reported finding no issue, so no repairs were performed. As the noise continued and worsened over the following months, I took the vehicle to Jerry Seiner Honda in San Juan Capistrano, California. Their service department diagnosed the clicking noise as originating from both front axles. Both front axles were replaced on October 28, 2025, which initially resolved the problem. However, the identical clicking noise has now returned. As of April 18, 2026, the condition is present again and requires further repair. THIS CONDITION IS NOT SAFE. The vehicle is still under lease with 19 payments remaining. This appears to be a recurring issue with the 2024 Honda Prologue.
