Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.

May 14, 2026
59,887 units potentially affected
The defect: American Honda Motor Company (Honda) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Honda Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.
The risk: A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Feb 26, 2026
65,135 units potentially affected
The defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays," 111, "Rear Visibility," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles."
The risk: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The remedy: Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 22, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are TNL and XNK. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 4, 2026.

Experiencing the CV joint clicking issue. Can hear a clicking issue when turning left or right at slower speeds. I am aware that this is an ongoing issue with Honda Prologues and would like to force a recall to repair the issue. I own a 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN: [XXX]). Since approximately XXX, the vehicle has experienced recurring failures involving critical driver-assistance and safety systems. The problems include: • "Forward Collision System Unavailable" warnings • "Adaptive Cruise Control Temporarily Unavailable" warnings • Automatic braking while reversing when no obstacle is present • Repeated loss of confidence in the operation of safety-related driver assistance systems   The vehicle has been presented to authorized Honda service facilities approximately four times for diagnosis and repair. The vehicle has spent approximately 20 to 22 days out of service. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problems continue. The vehicle has never been involved in a collision. A prior insurance claim involved hail damage only and was repaired. I do not believe the hail damage is related to the recurring failures of the driver-assistance systems. Because these systems are intended to help avoid collisions and improve vehicle safety, I am concerned that their repeated failure may create a safety risk. The unexpected braking while reversing is particularly concerning because it occurs even when no obstacle is present. I have opened Honda Case Number 162-31526 with American Honda Motor Company and have requested assistance, including consideration of a repurchase, replacement, or other resolution. I am submitting this complaint so that the issue can be documented and reviewed as a potential safety-related defect. The contact owns a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V306000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that while in reverse, the rear-view camera was glitching, and the red triangle on the rear-view camera screen indicated that there was an object behind the vehicle; however, there was no object behind the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

2024 Honda Prologue, 434 miles outside of warranty, CV joints failing and requires over $1,000 out of pocket. This is known defect from the manufacturer and it just showed up a few weeks ago. There are hundreds of Honda customers with the same issue. Honda has not issued a recall and refuses to qualify it under the limited warranty.

Please see details of NHTSA Campaign #25V433000. This is a known issue associated with a platform technology shared by GM and Honda. I purchased the vehicle as CPO on 31 July and almost immediately the parking brake warning light and the 'Service Transmission Now, Unable to Shift Soon' error code appeared on the dash. I returned the car to the dealer on 1 Aug for repairs and was told this is a 'known issue' with Honda Prologues, but there is no recall in effect for Honda. How is this possible? I am concerned with the degree of risk I could have potentially encountered due to a sudden brake failure or being stranded.

On 7/16/26, while driving, I heard loud clicking noises when turning and sometimes while driving straight. I took the vehicle to Coggin Deland Honda for inspection and they determined that both driveshafts are broken and need replacement. The service advisor shared that this is an ongoing problem with 2024 Honda Prologues that are not being covered by warranty. He also shared that there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue, because they knew about this issue when building the vehicle. We have filed a claim through Honda corporate. The safety of myself and children is at risk because I am no longer able to drive the car because it poses inherent risk which can cause a vehicle crash or even death. The vehicle component has been inspected by a Honda certified mechanic. The repairs cost around 2500. This is unacceptable and should be covered by the warranty.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Service Bulletin - Certain 2024 Prologue vehicles may have improperly installed or missing cavity plugs from the rear chassis harness electrical connector.

AEBM06262026902

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Dealer Message - Due to improper manufacturing, the rear chassis harness connector may not be properly sealed and only partially seated. An unsealed connector in a half set condition may allow for water or debris intrusion, potentially causing corrosion or damage to wire harness connections which may lead to loss of brake assist, parking brake stuck on/off, or inconsistent unit operation while driving.

Dealer Message -American Honda is requesting parts in support of a quality investigation related to Rear View Camera part number 86583111. All dealers that have inventory of Rear View Camera part number 86583111 are asked to inspect current inventory and return parts meeting the described return criteria to American Honda.

A25-028

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Service Bulletin - A whistle noise may be present within the HVAC system when switching from cabin heat to full cooling (A/C on). While driving, the heat may begin to blow cold air and the blower speed may drop intermittently due to possible faulty air conditioner condenser check valve or improperly formed A/C line at the mating surface of the condenser check valve.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
