The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the contact felt that the vehicle was misaligned. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the rear brake shocks needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that no braking system failure was found; however, the rear-end air bag suspension had blown, causing the vehicle to lean on its right side. The contact was then referred back to the dealer, who scheduled a diagnosis appointment. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.

As I was on my home on 2/20/26, I encountered some issues. I made a right turn onto the highway and my vehicle did a little drift but made this weird sound and the front end shook. There were no warning lights or dings that came across the dash. I pulled over into the closest parking lot to see if I could notice anything. I couldn't because I only had the light from a parking lot lamp. So decided to try and make it home which was another 15 minutes away. As I got back on the road and pressed the accelerator, I could here ticking sounds coming from the rear of the vehicle. When I approached the next traffic light and pressed the brakes, the front end shook, making the steering wheel shake, and the rear end drifted left. I made another left and pressed the accelerator. I got up to around 40 phone. The vehicle started pulling to the left and then stabilizing. I turned to my suspension articulation screen. As I was driving and the vehicle still scaring me to the point of a heart-a-stroke, I could see the axles trying to maintain contact with the road. At the same time giving me the feel of a loose steering wheel and a bad suspension. The vehicle continued to shift and shake and feel loose. When you turn into my neighborhood and before my house, there are two deep curves and a lake. I went into the first curve fine until the end of it. (At this time the lake is on my passenger side). As I was coming out of it, the steering wheel feels like its hard to turn or locked. I have to turn left into the second curve. The vehicle would not turn and the rear end felt like it was drifting right. At the edge of the road there is a slight downhill and the lake about 50 ft or so. Luckily, I was able to make the turn before going of the side of the road. Once I made it through the curve, the vehicle did do some shaking, loose steering, shaking, and back end motion until I parked in the yard. Its been parked since then. Thank you for your patience and attention to this matter.

The air ride suspension failed and is available for inspection. The "Service Air Suspension Immediately" notification appeared while driving. The problem has been confirmed by Stellantis dealership. The components were inspected by the manufacturer and insurance. There was not an indication of failure prior to failing. Stellantis technician claims the air suspension experienced an electrical failure causing an internal leak on all (4) air bags. The only remedy is to replace the entire suspension system. I do not know the safety implications of this failure if I continued driving the vehicle.

Jeep Grand Cherokee power steering leak! We’re having the same problem that other Jeep owners are having, the steering rack leaks on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The leak was discovered through regular maintenance check in 2018. We filled the reservoir with new fluid, it was fine for the entire year. It wasn’t until July 2021 that we discovered that fluid was leaking from the Steering Rack and Pinion and spraying fluid on to the engine. It got so bad that we had to fill the reservoir daily! It appears that Jeep knew about this problem since 2012 but failed to do anything about it. https://www.carproblemzoo.com/jeep/grandcherokee/steering-rack-and-pinion-problems.php https://www.jeepgarage.org/threads/leaking-power-steering-rack-and-pinion-boots.73596/ This Jeep only has 55,000 miles. My wife uses it locally and it’s never driven more than 100 miles a month and it has never been driven off road. This is appalling that it suffers from this kind failure so early in the Jeeps life. When I confronted the Jeep/Chrysler company with this issue, there only response was “it’s outside the warranty timeline”. The rep name was Sade and she was rude! This Jeep was garaged kept throughout it’s life. We’ve maintained this vehicle in immaculate condition, so much so that it STILL HAS THE NEW CAR SMELL!!! Very disappointed in Jeep. They used to be very reliable until they were bought out by FIAT, Go figure!

The air ride suspension says it's stuck in off-road 2 but is visibly stuck in the lowest setting. When driving it is very bumpy, almost worse than offroading. I do t think our safety is at risk. The problem has not been looked at by any professionals or independent dealers. It has not been inspected. We can't remember the exact time we noticed the message, but roughly around December 2020- January 2021. It is not a light it is a message that pops up a handful of times while driving.

Randomly my grand Cherokee overland 4wd stared spraying oil all over the rear of the vehicle. Took it to jeep and they said the rear deferential was shot and that the hose had melted off due to over heating. The vehicle never once displayed any indication of any failure or overheating. When I asked how could there not be any warning lights I was told it just happens. After researching this issue I discovered it's a very common problem. My concern is the vehicle could have easily locked up and caused the vehicle to flip or cause an accident with no warning.

2018 - "SERVICE SHIFTER" MESSAGE POPS UP. OVER $1000 I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE IT AS IT WAS JUST OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY TIME. PAST FEW YEARS, IN COLD WEATHER, THE SUSPENSION CREAKS AND CRACKS NOISES. JUST YESTERDAY, FEBRUARY 2019, LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD, "SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION IMMEDIATELY" POPS UP ON MY WAY HOME ON INTERSTATE. VERY BUMPY RIDE ALL THE WAY TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I FEEL I WAS LUCKY WHEN I MADE IT, AS THE TOPS OF THE REAR TIRES WERE ANGLED INWARD. APPARENTLY, ONE AIR SUSPENSION "BAG" BLEW OUT. THIS RESULTED IN THE PUMP/COMPRESSOR BURNING OUT. HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH BAGS AT THE SAME TIME AND THE PUMP, OVER $4,300 REPAIR FOR SOMETHING NO FAULT OF MY OWN AND FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN IN CARS THAT ARE MUCH OLDER IN MY OPINION. LOOKING ONLINE, APPEARS TO BE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. WILL JEEP ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND MAYBE "RECALL" THIS SYSTEM SO WE CAN BE REIMBURSED? I AM ABOUT TO SWITCH BRANDS AS SOON AS I GET THIS ONE OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT AND ANYONE ELSE I EVER COME ACROSS WHO WANTS TO BUY A JEEP, I WILL TELL THEM THE HORROR STORIES FROM MY CURRENT OVERLAND, MY PREVIOUS OVERLAND, WITH ITS 2011 MODEL ISSUES, AND MY UNLIMITED WRANGLER ISSUES BEFORE THAT. I DON'T HEAR ANY ISSUES LIKE THESE FROM FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH OTHER BRAND VEHICLES.

I BELIEVE THERE TO BE A DEFECT WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR IN THIS VEHICLE, AND THE SAME MODEL FROM OTHER YEARS STARTING FROM 2011 UNTIL THE CURRENT MODEL YEAR. AT THE TIME OF SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT, THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 200 ORDERS OF THIS PART ON BACK ORDER ACROSS CANADA, AND I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE PART IS AVAILABLE FOR INSTALLATION. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I WAS SIMPLY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE DISPLAY IN THE CAR TOLD ME TO "SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION IMMEDIATELY". I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. THIS PART NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER AS I AM VERY CLEARLY NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MAJOR FAILURE OF THIS PART, WHICH IS CRUCIAL TO THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE SUSPENSION IN THIS CAR.
