The contact owns a 1986 Toyota Pickup. The contact stated that he had signed a limited warranty rust protection with the Ziebart company. The contact stated that he had taken the vehicle to get the shocks replaced and the technician working on the vehicle refused to continue working on the vehicle due to extreme corrosion on the rear passenger’s side of the frame near the fuel tank. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where the contact was informed that the corrosion was advanced, and the dealer would not perform a repair on the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 333,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 1986 TOYOTA TRUCK WITH A HAUL MASTER (YEAR UNKNOWN) UTILITY TRAILER. THE TRAILER WAS EQUIPPED WITH INNOVA ULTRA RUNNER TIRES, SIZE: 5.3/12. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V638000 (TIRES) HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CONTACTED THE STORE MANAGER AT HARBOR FREIGHT LOCATED AT 3970 W INA RD, TUCSON, AZ 85741 (520) 579-0225 WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1986 TOYOTA PICKUP. THE VEHICLE HAS FIRESTONE FIREHAWKS R4S TIRES,SIZE 30 9.5/R15TL (NA). WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SHE SLOWED DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND OBSERVED TREAD SEPARATION ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. IN ADDITION, WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD SUDDENLY. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE, VIN, AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
