2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Suspension Problems

in beginning of January of 2026 my vehicle had lifter issues. Brought it to Chevrolet Group 1 in Spring Texas. Three weeks without transportation. Beginning of February the vehicle stopped in the middle of the feeder. Vehicle lights up but goes dark for five seconds and will not start. Had it towed back to the same dealership and told it was the battery cable that needs to be replaced. Three weeks passed no transportation. In the middle of April 16 2026 I was driving on the feeder in the far right lane and the front right wheel came off hanging by only the tie rod. the vehicle slid a good 700 to 900 almost crashing into a muffler shop gate. Upon inspection the muffler shop mechanic notice that the front right upper control arm bolt threads are not damaged and the nut is missing.

VECHILE CONTINUES TO FAIL OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, TEST BEGAN 09/2023, AND CONTINUES TO BE THE ISSUE PRESENT DAY. ENGINE WAS REPLACED 2025, 3-4 MONTHS LATER TRANMISSION WENT OUT. TRANSMISSION REPLACED 2025. OIL CONSUMPTION CONTINUES TO FAIL. DEALERSHIP CHUCK HUTTON 2471 MT. MORIAH ROAD, MEMPHIS, TN 38115 PERFORMED ALL THESE SERVICES. SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE LEAKING OIL POLLUTION IS CAUSING HARM TO ME AND MY FAMILY AS WELL AS LEAVING OIL RESIDUE IN THE DRIVEWAY. NO WARNING MESSAGES EXCEPT FOR WHEN IT SAYS ADD OIL, THAT'S WHEN I'M PUT ON NOTICE THAT THE VECHILE IS LOSING OIL. DUE TO THE LEAKING OIL, OIL IS NOW MIXING WITH GASOLINE, INDICATING THERE TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP. NOW BEIND DIRECTED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. THIS HAS BECOME VERY COSTLY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND CONTINUES TO BE AN ON-GOING PROBLEM

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the front driver’s side upper control arm detached, causing the brake pads, rotors, and axle to fail. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired, and the upper control arm control, brakes pads, and rotors were replaced. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V718000 (SUSPENSION); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 83,000.

The Wheel Bearing Bolts came loose and began to fall out. One rubbed against the clamp for the axle boot. The driver was alerted to an issue due to a whining noise from the wheel. Unclear if this noise came from the wheel bearing failing due to misalignment caused by added stress on the single remaining bolt or the rubbing of one of the bolts against the axle. Visual inspection showed one of the bolts had almost completely fallen out. Car was towed to a repair shop and wheel bearings and bolts were replaced.

I bought a this car and the car started giving me issues, Engine wasn’t working properly, brakes were not working well, they gave me problem even I thought maybe the need to be changed, the suspension was off in a way that I feel uncomfortable driving the car and besides that, has electrical problems sometimes the radio and the panel went off out of nowhere and the car just have 40,000 miles.

The sway bar detached from the frame running down the road due to a faulty installation completed by the production line. My wife heard a clunking sound and recognized instability in the vehicle during turns she immediately stopped driving it until it could be evaluated. Apparently during manufacture the mounting holes for the sway bar were threaded too big for the bolts used so they installed helicoil repairs into the frame which failed allowing the sway bar to detach. I have pictures from the dealership showing the failure and chevy is trying to weld a nut into the frame to be able to reattach the assembly at my expense.

While driving within the neighborhood, the upper control arm ball joint failed and the wheel folded under. After some research, it appears that this truck purchased new from the dealership where it was upfitted with a suspension leveling accessory as shown in the photo. It should have been included in NHTSA Recall 21V-718 as it clearly is premature failure of the OEM upper control arm ball joint due to the dealer installed Suspension Level Kit. Vehicle was purchased new at Vaden Chevrolet in Pooler GA.

In August 2023 I was hearing a popping noise coming from my truck. Took it to Hare dealership for diagnosis and repair. They had my truck until September 8, 2023. I was told Hare service couldn't reproduce the noise, ran multi-point inspection and was informed that everything was fine. Few days later, I returned to dealership and reported still hearing the popping noise. But service Mgr. said they found nothing wrong that wasn't repaired. Approximately 10 weeks later, while my wife was driving to pick up dinner, after stopping at a stop sign, she started moving and all the sudden steering the vehicle was impossible, and the truck collapsed in the middle of the dark road! See photos. I believe the safety risks to my family and other travelers on the roads speaks for themselves in this situation. I went to the scene with my father-in-law, where I saw my wife visibly terrified and shaking! As for the condition of the truck at the scene, see photos. I had the truck towed to my home, then called Hare Chevrolet the next morning and my truck was then towed to them. Hare reported that, Upper ball joint failed. Multiple damaged components. Recommend replacement of Upper Control Arm, Lower Control Arm, Axle Shaft, Steering Gear, RF Outer Tie Rod End, RF Brake Line, & Wire Repair for Speed Sensor. 4 Wheel Alignment: Required with ball joint replacement. [Primary]: D11 : Multi-Point Inspection (I), Wheels/Rims: Wheel repair. After waiting 6 weeks for Hare to provide a required written estimate detailing the costs of parts, labor, fees and taxes, I finally had my truck towed to another shop a few days ago. Excluding Sep. 8 to Nov 26, 2023, I have not had use of my family vehicle since August 15, 2023!

Currently own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Texas Edition Z-71. Transmission continues to hard shift / lunge in forward and reverse. The transmission has popped so hard, on multiple occasions that I was convinced that someone had hit me from behind and had to pull over. The downshift is occasionally so hard that it that you jerk forward out of the seat. In October of 2022 the downshift at 15 mph made me lose control of my truck and utility trailer, sliding me into a small tree causing over two thousand dollars in damages. The suspension is also extremely shaky and any rough terrain makes the vehicle uncontrollable even at low speeds. I have almost had 3 additional accidents because of loss of control in rain and snow. The suspension is also noisy when you first drive with a grinding / rubbing sound. Vehicle has been in for service for these issues on more than one occasion and I have been told they cannot find anything wrong. I have had a transmission code in the past that eventually turned off. A quick internet search shows these all to be known issues and Chevrolet refuses to address of repair these major safety issues.

On my 2019-Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the ball joint in the front upper control arm broke and caused the wheel to separate from the truck while driving. The truck is available for inspection where I had to have it towed to the dealership repair center. Fortunately, no other vehicles were on the same road as me when it happened, and I was on a local road not going very fast, but it could have killed me and others. It most definitely put our safety at risk. Because of a faulty control arm causing the ball joint to break, it also broke my CV Axle, Tire Rod End, cut the brake lines and ruined the tire and wheel. Because the brakes did not work, I am fortunate the tire/wheel on the ground helped the truck to stop. The dealership says there is no GM recall so it is not covered and NHTSA Recall 21V718 is not real which I never received a notification about either. We are waiting on insurance and dealership to complete the full inspectection with an estimate and they too agree I am lucky to be alive. There were no warning lamps or messages. This must be addressed with GM immediately before more people die from this faulty control arm.

The front driver side upper ball joint broke. I was going down the highway at 70 miles an hour, pulling a trailer when it broke, I was lucky to keep it on the road. It ruined the rim,tire,brake lines and CV boot. Just fortunate there wasn’t a car next to me or we would’ve hit it and nobody died, especially with my young son in the car. Also when I got it towed the tow truck driver said he picked about the same year truck up three weeks prior for the same issue a broken ball joint on the driver side. In my opinion they should not be an issue with a newer truck with only 42,000 miles on it. This is a huge safety concern and has done a lot of damage to the truck and cost me a lot of money especially being six hours away from home when it happened.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch. The vehicle was not drivable. Came with Mitchlem tires lasted a little over 30,000 miles this is due to lack of maintenance,balance and rotation from the dealer

P25A2 U0146 U0101 U0100 MIL Status- off Freeze frame DTC- u0146 I had an oil change done by Hare Chevy in Noblesville 2 weeks ago, never an issue with my truck until after I left the dealership. Stanley Chevy in Mccordsville looked at it this morning and said they have to order a bunch of parts for it, including new leaf springs for a truck that is less than 2 years old…never have heard of such a thing.

THERE IS A POLICE REPORT WITH THE WAVERLY POLICE DEPT IN WAVERLY, OHIO 45690. REPORT NUMBER 21-050. TO MY SURPRISE COMING HOME FROM WORK ON 4/13/21 THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO A CO WORKERS NEW MODEL GMC SIERRA WHICH IS A SIMILAR VEHICLE. HE WAS JUST DRIVING AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION FELL OFF HIS VEHICLE CAUSING HIS TRUCK SUSPENSION TO HIT THE GROUND. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT A NEW 2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LD ON 06/08/2019, I REALLY LIKED THE TRUCK AND ITS MANY FEATURES.
