2019 Ford F-150 Brakes Problems

The front passenger brake caliper came completely off when I was driving.the only warning I had was when my brake pedal went straight to the floor when depressed.i was forced to pull into a gas station and keep driving in circles till the vehicle slowed enough to drive into a curb to stop so I could put the vehicle in park.i then had my vehicle towed home and replaced the part myself as I dont feel comfortable taking my vehicle to the dealership to be worked on because of past experiences. The other issue is when I accelerate my pcm goes into what I would call it as limp mode.the vehicle has no power to accelerate and it happens randomly.it will stay like that until the vehicle is turned off and key removed for atleast 15 minutes.when started back up it is back to normal but if the accelerator pedal is push to quickly it will go back Into limp mode if I put the vehicle in sport mode it happens almost immediately. Also the transmission has random down and upshifts and shifts very harshly at times.i drive over a mountain pass atleast 5 times a month and have been stuck on the side of the road multiple times waiting for my vehicle to go back to normal to make it over the pass.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while pressing the brake pedal a grinding noise was present coming from the frontend of the vehicle. While inspecting the vehicle the husband discovered that the brake vacuum line was damaged. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the four wheel drive vacuum hose. After retrieving the vehicle the failure reoccurred and the vehicle was taken back to the local dealer who installed a vacuum tube and actuator assembly but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was not yet contact regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.

All of a sudden I lost almost all braking. Brake light came on and a message saying low brake fluid prompted on screen. I see this was recalled for the 3.5l ecoboost. Why wouldn’t this be recalled for the 2.7l eco boost? Reading online it seems I had the same problem other people had.

The contact stated that the brake lights were flickering. Additionally, the heater, radio, and the defroster were inoperable. The front windows also failed to roll down as needed. When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate , the truck will not accelerate rather it begins to rev the engine loudly (as if the gas pedal was being pushed while the truck is in neutral) the RPM shoots high to 6-7 (again the truck isn’t accelerating any faster just loudly revving,) then the truck jolts as if it has just been rear ended. The shifting is stuttering staying stuck in 3rd and 4th gear severing going back to 1 even at a stop. Vehicle messaging alerted 1/10/25 powertrain malfunction /reduced power . However this issues has been going on and Ford Said it was related to a 4x4 control module which was replaced and yet the issues continue. Brought it back to ford because the problem was not fixed and they are asking for payment of additional diagnostic testing and NOW saying it’s a transmission issue AFTER saying it was issue with the control module unit. Having major issues with the auto stop control, it has turned the truck off while sitting in the middle of an intersection, has stalled my truck multiple times in busy areas of on coming traffic, has shortened my battery life and my starter, and it has shown different warning icons. The power train is also acting up by hard shifting, not wanting to switch gears, skipping gears, and also making it difficult to pin point problem. My rear left brake functions are causing an issue as well, some function is making my brakes either stick or something because I get a burning odor constantly coming from my rear wheel even after changing my brakes and rotors.

While driving 65mph on I-495 on a +90 degree day in August my 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4, the horn of the F-150 beeped. It beeped again a couple more times then the F-150 powered down forcing me to coast through some lanes of traffic to reach the break down lane. ABS and maintenance due light were both illuminated. My code reader said a switch was shorted so I cleared codes to retest. I restarted the truck and after re-boott was able to drive the vehicle home. Not associated with this enroute power failure incident, I notice intermittent rough idle issues, a tail gate that opens by itself 24/7 with alarm and it is now normal for this F-150 to burn 3-4 quarts of extra oil between each oil change.

I bought this truck last April, and have not had an issue like this since I bought it. Today, when I got off the highway I made a stop on a light and proceeded on a road (45mph) about a quarter mile down I felt my truck slowing down and all of the sudden it stopped in the middle of the road. I gave it a little gas but it didn’t move much, at first I thought the transmission blew but I didn’t have any lights illuminated nor did I hear any noises. The road I was on was on an incline so I put the truck into neutral and the truck stood still, the brakes felt odd, stiffer than usual. To make a long story short I managed to pull into a parking lot, and started to inspect the vehicle. The rotors were very hot, so I thought maybe something is wrong with the brakes. I opened the hood and I started disconnecting vacuum hoses, one of the hoses closest to the brake booster was stuck and as I disconnected it I heard a loud hiss of air suction. I plugged it back in and started the truck, I put it in N and it started to roll again, and I regained normal brake pedal feeling. On the uploaded image, I circled where I disconnected the vacuum line.

Seeing the future recall for 2021-23 F-150's emergency brake issue, I have a 2019 F-150 and have experienced this issue. Moving very slowly in stop and go traffic, loud bang, vehicles skids to an immediate stop chirping the tires while in moving traffic. No warning lights on dash, wife and myself stopped forcefully by seatbelts. About 2 seconds later, vehicle moved forward and continued on. No impact by other vehicles. I have had one experience with this but please include my truck in the recall. This incident happened just before July 4th 2023. Thank you.

I approached a stop sign on a downhill descent and as I approached, the auto StartStop shut off my motor and I lost control of the vehicle. I could not steer and the brakes were squishy. I started rolling in to oncoming traffic. When I looked down at the dashboard it read, “Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine.” I have a picture of the alert.

My wife was driving my truck while I was hospitalised after emergency surgery. While driving, an emergency noise sounded and a “Brake Fluid Low” light came on. Immediately after that, the truck was difficult to stop - having to put the pedal all the way to the floor. She immediately went to a local full service gas station to have some brake fluid put in. She was told there that there was brake fluid all over the engine under the hood and that the brake hose was busted. They topped off the brake fluid and followed her home, one mile away, where she parked the truck (said she was scared driving and several times was unable to come to a complete stop - luckily no one hit her!). Upon getting out of the hospital, I called the dealership where I purchased the truck and an extended warranty that I pay $75-$100/ month for. I was told I was responsible for getting truck to them (in another town 15 miles away) and that most likely it would be covered under my warranty. I contacted my insurance company and filed an Emergency Roadside claim to have the truck towed to the dealership since undriveable. I’ve just received a call from dealership, Jones Ford in Humboldt, TN. They say my brake line is not covered because not a mechanical failure. They say the hose came loose and rubbed against the steering column and because of that, the warranty did not cover the brakes. They said I might have gone off-roading (which I didn’t). I am self-employed and use my truck daily.

I was driving approximately 35mph. I braked hard enough to slow down to avoid hitting a car that blew through an intersection. That's when my brakes became soft, and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. The truck had limited braking at that point. I was able to continue driving for a bit. The brakes would initially have some braking power when I first apply the brake, but within seconds the brake pedal would go all the way to the floor again. After braking several more times, the low brake fluid message came on. I opened the hood, and you can see fluid has leaked on the passenger side near the firewall.

DURING MY VEHICLE OWNERSHIP THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN SET TO 'APPLY BRAKING' AND ALERT SET TO 'HIGH' THE SYSTEM HAS ALERTED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, HOWEVER THE AEB NEVER ENGAGED THE BRAKES. I WAS RECENTLY IN A COLLISION, WHILE THE SYSTEM ALERTED, AND SHOULD HAVE ENGAGED THE AEB. THE PRE-COLLISION AEB DID NOT APPLY THE BRAKES. THE COLLISION WAS MINOR; THE PRE-COLLISION AEB SYSTEM FAILED. OTHER CONCERNS FOR CONSIDERATION. IF THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM CAN FAIL, COULD THE SYSTEM ALSO APPLY BRAKES WHEN THERE IS NO DANGER OF A COLLISION. A FAILED SYSTEM IS A FAILED SYSTEM.
