CPSC#H1180084A. 2004 FLAGSTAFF. CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS SLEEPING IN CAMPER WHEN THE 60X80 BED CAME APART AT THE HINGES. SHE REACTED QUICKLY AND GOT OUT THROUGH THE OPENING INTO THE CAMPER. SAYS IF SHE HAD NOT REACTED QUICKLY SHE COULD HAVE GOTTEN SERIOUSLY HURT. *LN THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE, THEN THE BED DROPPED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ALUMINUM WAS NOT WELDED PROPERLY AND THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE BED TOGETHER WAS THE BOARD ON BOTH SIDES. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FOREST RIVER FLAGSTAFF 8528 RLFS FIFTH WHEEL. THE FRESH WATER TANK FELL FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH WHEEL AS THE CONTACT WAS FILLING IT UP WITH WATER. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE. SHE CALLED THE DEALER FROM WHERE THE FIFTH WHEEL WAS PURCHASED AND THEY AGREED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. HOWEVER, SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, THE DEALER COULD NOT REPAIR IT FOR FREE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. UPDATED 10/14/08. *LJ
