2004 Jeep Liberty Problems

Yes I checked for recall on my 04 jeep liberty suspension and there is a recall on it I was driving my jeep and it is pulling so much that it's scary to drive but it's the only vehicle I have to get back and fourth to work so I researched it and everything it's saying on the recall is what is going on I'm afraid to get in a wreck and not only hurt my but mostly hurt anyone else in a crash where can I take it to get fixed

I was going around a corner when it felt like a cinder block was under it. I stopped and looked but it wouldn't go and the driver's wheel was slumped where you couldn't drive it. I called the tow truck and had it towed to get it fixed. The Lower Ball Joint and control arm had to be replaced on both sides in the front. It was going to happen on the passenger side also. If I would have been on the freeway my car would have flipped and I wouldn't have survived. The back tires had a recall on them that I had done. Also the upper Ball joints had to be replaced.

I have had it to several different mechanics and no one seems to know exactly what the problem is.. please help me fix this problem..

Control arm just instantly broke while I was driving down the highway. I didn't know about the recall till I seen it on web site so no authorities were contacted.

NOT SURE WHEN LOCKS STOPPED ONLY DRIVERS DOOR LOCKS WITH FOB. MAIN PROBLEM DRIVERS REAR BLINKER-STOP LIGHT NOT WORKING REPLACED BULBS AND NOTHING. WHOLE UNIT DOESN'T WORK.

FRONT BRAKES GOT STUCK WHILE I WAS DRIVING GOT STUCK BEFORE BUT HAD GOT FIXED AND THEN HAPPENED AGAIN THIS TIME CAUGHT FIRE

OUR MECHANIC SAYS THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED, CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. 2) THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, DOES NOT TURN OFF.

THAT SAME DAY I INFORMED MY MECHANIC AVIA COME TO MY HOUSE, TOLD MY SUV HAS A WATER LEAK AND BURNED IN THE MUFFLER, WHEN MY CHECK MECHANIC TELLS ME IS NOT WATER IS OIL, AGAIN I CONTACT THE SELLER AND I SENT HIM A TEXT MESSAGE AND DOES NOT ANSWER ME, MY MECHANIC INFORMS ME, THE TRADER CAN NOT SELL TIRE TRUCK WITH BAD QUALITY, MY SUV THE TIRE ARE WORN, NOT REALLY SAP THAT INFORMATION. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, THE PASSENGER HEATED SEAT CAUGHT FIRE. THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ALREADY HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 09V117000. I CONTACTED JEEP IN AN EFFORT TO GET THEM TO EXPAND THEIR RECALL AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. PLEASE, ASSIST ME IN INVESTIGATING THIS PROBLEM AND HAVING THE COMPANY FIX THIS PROBLEM. I'M GUESSING THE GRAND CHEROKEE, WHICH IS MORE LUXURIOUS, HAS MANY MORE VEHICLES WITH HEATED SEATS THAN THE LIBERTY THUS MORE COMPLAINTS. HAVING SAID THAT, JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE FEWER VEHICLES WITH THE PROBLEM DOESN'T MEAN THE VEHICLE IS ANY LESS HAZARDOUS THAN THE CHEROKEE.

I DROVE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR ON A STEEP MOUNTAIN ROAD. SOMETIMES USING THE OVERDRIVE TO GO UP STEEP GRADES. THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK. I MADE IT TO TOWN AND WAS ON THE MAIN ROAD STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. SUDDENLY, THE RPMS RACED AND THE JEEP ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BUT HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK TO STOP IT, BUT NOT BEFORE IT HIT THEN TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS SHAKEN UP AND CHECKED THE FLOOR MAT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. IT WAS NOT.

The tires began vibrating no matter what speed. The sidewall became very thin. The tire pressure monitoring sensor light keeps coming on even though the tires and TPMS sensors are brand new

Tires shake, grind and make a pulsing noise when trying to stop.

2004 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT. ON MARCH 20, 2009 WHILE DRIVING, THE AUTO TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR, WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. ON MARCH 24TH, LIBERTY RETURNED TO US. DEALER CHARGED $500 TO REPLACE WIRING ATTACHED TO PCM, STATING THEY WERE WORN OUT AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. ON APRIL 24TH THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN CONNECTICUT, THE LIBERTY ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 4TH TO 1ST GEAR NEARLY CAUSING US TO BE STRUCK BY TRAILING VEHICLES, AND WOULD NOT GO INTO ANY OTHER DRIVING GEAR. JEEP DEALER IN GREENWICH, CT SAID THEY SUSPECTED THE TRANNY WAS WORN BUT COULD NOT UNDERTAKE THE REPAIR. WE CANCELLED OUR TRIP AND BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL DEALER ON APRIL 25TH, BAD PCM DIAGNOSED, REPLACED. WARRANTY COVERED. RECEIVED JEEP BACK ON 5/1/09. LATER THE SAME DAY THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. BROUGHT IT BACK TO SAME DEALER. PCM REPLACED AGAIN WE'RE TOLD. LIBERTY RETURNED TO US ON 5/6/09. ON 6/9/09 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE JEEP SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY ONCE AGAIN AN ACCIDENT WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED. TOWED TO A DIFFERENT LOCAL DEALER. BAD PCM AGAIN DIAGNOSED. PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. LIBERTY FINALLY RETURNED TO US ON 7/2/09. ON 7/9/09 WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROAD, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AGAIN AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. WE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO DID LAST REPAIR. AS OF TODAY IT REMAINS THERE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN EACH INSTANCE AT THE EXACT MOMENT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. *TR

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY JEEP LIBERTY 4X4 WITH 6 CYL. ENGINE AND 4-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION NEW, IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY EXHIBIT AN ABRUPT THUNK WHEN DOWNSHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR AS IN COMING TO A STOP. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER SAID IT WAS COMMON TO THE VEHICLE AND A "QUIRK." IT CONTINUED TO DO THIS OFF AND ON UNTIL I REACHED APPROXIMATELY 43,000 MILES AT WHICH TIME THE CONDITION WORSENED. NOW, IT WILL ALSO DISPLAY A LOUD THUNK AND JERK IN THE REAR FEELING AS IF YOU HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND WHEN STARTING TO MOVE FORWARD FROM A STOP IN 1ST GEAR. I KNOW I WAS NOT HIT AS THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME ONE TIME AND I PULLED OVER TO CHECK ON A SECOND TIME TO BE SURE THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF BEING HIT. THIS HAPPENS APPROXIMATELY 2 TIMES PER WEEK, DEPENDING ON HOW OFTEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE FEELING IS VERY ALARMING. I CALLED ONE JEEP DEALER WHO SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNLESS THEY CAN REPRODUCE THE SYMPTOM OR IF A WARNING LIGHT WAS ON TO READ THE ERROR CODES (NO WARNING LIGHT HAS EVER GONE ON). THE SECOND DEALER SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT FOR $100, BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE ANYTHING. *TR

The driver side seatbelt will not stay buckled has a hard time to buckle if it does and then comes unbuckled again driving down the road. There has been numerous complaints I see already for this what do I need to fix it

THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT CONSISTENTLY LATCH. ALSO, THE SEAT BELT COMES UNLATCHED WHILE DRIVING WITH THE BUTTON UNTOUCHED. AS AN EXAMPLE, THE SEAT BELT UNLATCHES WITHOUT TOUCHING THE RED BUTTON ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH.
