The defect: CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN CERTAIN TUBING IN THE REFRIGERATOR WHICH COULD ALLOW PRESSURIZED FLAMMABLE COOLANT SOLUTION TO BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
The risk: THIS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
The remedy: KEYSTONE RV WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURNER HOUSING AND THERMAL FUSES FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST YOU IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. DT: RV, 5TH WHEEL COUGAR MADE BY KEYSTONE RV COMPANY IN GOSHEN HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FRAME. WHILE DRIVING THE I-BEAM FRAMES WERE BUCKLED INWARD. THERE WAS AN ADVISORY SERVICE BULLETIN #00-9 ON THIS ISSUE. BUT THE CONSUMER WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY KEYSTONE OR THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAS INSISTED THAT VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN DUE TO CRACKS. THE CONSUMER HAD TO BUY A NEW TRAILER.*AK THE SHACKLES ATTACHING THE LEAF SPRINGS TO THE MAIN FRAME WERE CRACKED/BROKEN AND SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME. THE CONSUMER'S INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE TRAILER A TOTAL LOSS AND PAID THE CONSUMER $14,756.00, THE COST OF A USED TRAILER. *NM

WHILE PULLING THE CAMPER AT 55 MPH REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEW OUT AND WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE. THE TIRE SEVERELY DAMAGED THE RIGHT REAR SPLASH GUARD ON THE TRAILER. *AK WHEN THE TIRE BLEW, THE WHOLE CAP OF THE TIRE HAD COME OFF WRAPPING ITSELF AROUND THE TRAILER AXLE AND STUFFED SOME OF IT INTO THE BRAKE DRUM. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE TIRE BE REPLACED AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE DAMAGES TO THE VEHICLE. *SC
