THE HOOD LATCH FAILED TO HOLD WHEN WE HIT A DEER THAT RAN ONTO I95. FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED; THE WINDSHIELD BROKE AS DID THE RADIATOR. NO ONE WAS HURT BUT WHEN THE HOOD LATCH FAILED TO HOLD, THE HOOD FLEW UP TOWARDS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD, TOTALLY OBSCURED VISION. THIS MADE IT VERY DANGEROUS TO GET OUT OF THE TRAVEL LANE AND INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. FORTUNATELY, WE WERE IN THE RIGHT LANE AND THERE WAS MINIMAL TRAFFIC EARLY ON A SATURDAY MORNING BUT WE FEEL THIS CAR WOULD BE MUCH SAFER IF THE LATCH HELD IN THIS ACCIDENT. *TR

I AM FROM OHIO. I WAS ON A FAMILY VACATION WITH MY FAMILY OF 5 IN SOUTH CAROLINA. I WENT TO GET IN MY 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY ON A WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR OPENERS WOULD NOT WORK WITH THE REMOTE. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED I HAD NO DASH INSTRUMENTS. THE RADIO DID NOT WORK. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE RUNNING AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE DID DRIVE, ALTHOUGH WITH NO DASH INSTRUMENTS. I CALLED MY DEALER IN OHIO WHERE I LEASED THE VEHICLE. THEY ADVISED TO CALL CHRYSLER CORPORATE. CHRYSLER CORPORATE GAVE ME NAMES OF LOCAL DEALERS NEAR ME IN SOUTH CAROLINA. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON WEDNESDAY AT 1PM FOR MY APPOINTMENT. THEY ADVISED ME THROUGH CHRYSLER COPORATE'S ADVICE THAT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED REPLACED. THIS PART ARRIVED ON THURSDAY. IT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THEY ORDERED ANOTHER PART (I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS) THAT ARRIVED FRIDAY. THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THEY BEGAN LOOKING FOR A SHORT IN THE VEHICLE'S WIRING. AS OF TODAY, THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALER IN SC. THEY DO NOW HAVE THE DASH LIGHTS AND INSTRUMENTS WORKING, BUT CANNOT GET THE WIPERS TO STOP. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THIS VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. CHRYSLER DID PROVIDE A RENTAL TO GET MY FAMILY HOME FROM VACATION ON SATURDAY. I AM STILL IN THAT RENTAL VEHICLE. *TR

I BOUGHT A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVAN. I WAS DOING 55 MPH ON A ROAD WITH NO SHOULDER AND HIT A MAILBOX. THE RIGHT CORNER WAS DESTROYED. THERE WAS AN AIRBAG SENSOR BEHIND THE RIGHT LIGHT. EVEN THOUGH THE LAMP AND SENSOR WAS DESTROYED, MY SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK UP OR AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE BODY SHOP TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS OVER 500 REQUEST FOR THIS PART. HE TOLD THE NORTH POINT BODY SHOP THAT USUALLY MEANS IT IS DEFECTIVE. THIS PART IS NOT AVAILABLE ENOUGH LATE SPRING. *TR

POWER TRAIN
Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster (VF) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
