1995 YUKON FUEL AND BRAKE LINES WERE DIAGNOSED AS HAVING POTENTIAL RUST. *TS A YEAR PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT THE BRAKE LINES NEAR THE MASTER CYLINDER RUSTED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. THE FUEL LINES ON TOP OF THE SENDING UNIT ALSO RUSTED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. *NM THE BRAKES LOCKED UNEXPECTEDLY AT LOW SPEEDS WITHOUT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT REAR LOWER BRAKE ANCHOR WAS SHEARING OFF THE BACKING PLATE, GOING TO ONE SIDE, CONSEQUENTLY ALLOWING THE BRAKE SHOES TO ENGAGE WITHOUT BRAKE PRESSURE. UPDATED 03/09/06. *JB *NM

BRAKES LOCK UNEXPECTEDLY AT LOW SPEEDS. OFTEN WITHOUT BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE, AND ALWAYS WITHOUT WARNING. PROBLEM HAS EXISTED FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS. SEVERAL MECHANICS (INCLUDING GMC) HAVE TRIED TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. EACH HAD AN EXPENSIVE SOLUTION, NONE OF WHICH HAS WORKED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH IS DESTINED TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS TYPE (SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR) ON YOUR WEBSITE. *JB

FUEL LINES RUSTED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE SENDING UNIT AND FIRST SECTION OF FUEL LINES ARE ONE PIECE, SO THE SENDING UNIT ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. I DO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ON THE BEACH, NOR HAS IT BEEN IN A FLOOD. FUEL LINES AND SENDER REPLACED A HIGH COST. *JB

FAILURE OF DRIVER SEAT MOUNTING ON THE WINDOW SIDE. *MR THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE MOUNTING HOLES, ONE ON EACH CORNER OF THE SEAT, WERE RETROFITTED ON THE WINDOW-SIDE (FRONT & REAR) BY SPOT WELDING A THREADED WASHER ABOUT THREE INCHES TO THE RIGHT OF THE CORNER HOLES TO FACILITATE MOUNTING OF THE SEAT TO THE RAIL ON THE FLOORBOARD. THIS PARTICULAR DESIGN CAUSED METAL FATIGUE SURROUNDING THE SPOT-WELDED WASHERS, RESULTING IN THE SEAT BREAKING LOOSE. *SC *JB
