The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. The defect: KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RAPTOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES. THE FRESH WATER FILL/DRAW LINE MAY BE CONNECTED TO THE BLACK WASTE WATER'S TANK.
The risk: IN THE EVENT THE FRESH WATER LINE IS CONNECTED TO THE BLACK WASTE WATER'S TANK, THE FRESH WATER MAY BECOME CONTAMINATED LEADING TO AN INCREASED RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE WATER LINES TO VERIFY THEY ARE PLUMBED CORRECTLY AND CORRECT IF NECESSARY. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 10, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-866-425-4369.

The defect: KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS WITH A GENERATOR READY OPTION. IF THE TRANSFER SWITCH IS NOT INSTALLED TO THE PROPER SPECIFICATIONS, THE ELEVATED ELECTRICAL LOADS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE USE IN HIGHER AMBIENT TEMPERATURES MAY CAUSE OVERHEATING OF THE LUGS AND DEGRADING OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
The risk: OVERHEATING OF THE CONNECTIONS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE TRANSFER SWITCH IF NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY WAS SUPERCEDED BY CAMPAIGN 11V-577. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-866-425-4369.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KEYSTONE RAPTOR FIFTH WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKES SEIZED AFTER THE CHECK TRAILER WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3000. UPDATED 05/09/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE RV HAS A DEFECT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ELECTRICAL BRAKES NEED THE (12V) BATTERIES IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. UPDATED 05/12/2012 *JS

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KEYSTONE RAPTOR TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE SPARE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE FAILURE UNTIL HE CHECKED THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000.
