While driving my 2026 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid at approximately 10 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated on its own without any input from me. I applied hard braking to bring the vehicle under control. No collision occurred. The specific component or system that failed is UNKNOWN — I suspect the speed control, powertrain, or electrical throttle system, but this has not yet been diagnosed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly at low speed in a parking lot, an environment with pedestrians, parked vehicles, and other close-proximity hazards. I had to brake hard to stop it, which could have resulted in a collision with another vehicle, a pedestrian, or a fixed object had I not been able to react in time. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. I reported the incident to Toyota the day after it occurred; Toyota opened case number 260811002989 and scheduled a diagnostic inspection appointment. As of this filing, that inspection has not yet taken place. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before or during the incident. The dashboard showed no malfunction indicators at any point.

The car is owned by AVIS Car Rental. I happened to be driving this vehicle in the downtown Chicago area with only 11,820 miles on it the airbag light turned on and the passenger active status light for the airbag just completely turned off not indicating if the passenger airbag was enabled or disabled. As soon as I turned off the vehicle and turn it back on the airbag light didn't turn on anymore and everything started working as normal again. On different groups on Facebook I have seen people posting about the same issue with their own Camrys. Being a big company or corporation most likely no one will take the time to report the issue but I rather do my own part and do it for them. It's a 2026 Toyota Camry LE

This is the only way I can get my message to you that I know of. It is very distracting having to deal with all the ADAS systems. They are actually a distraction for me, taking my eyes off the road when I most need them on the road to figure out why the "nanny" alarms are going off. I don't know why these things are being added to vehicles, but we have to turn them off as much as we can. If I get in an accident, it will be because of these features not because I am not paying attention to the road. Thank you for letting me share my perspective. I encountered an accident on 6/6/2026 due to a sudden acceleration of this car. I stepped on the gas pedal slightly to move the car approximately one foot to the curve to park, when all of a sudden the car suddenly accelerated full force that it jumped over the curve and hit the wall of the restaurant. I asked Toyota to investigate the content of the black box. Toyota told me that the result and resolution should be out in 30 to 45 days. It’s been more than 45 days and I have been calling them and Toyota still cannot provide with the formalized result of their investigation. The data from the vehicle’s black box was obtained on 6/19/2026. My car is still on the repair shop. I want to know how the government can help me . I am convinced that this vehicle is defective, it has only 1,600 miles.

While washing my car, I noticed that the clips securing the front bumper—specifically on the right side, beneath the headlight—had come loose. I took the car to the Toyota service center on Monday, June 22nd. They inspected the bumper and found no signs of scraping or impact, so they agreed to repair it under warranty. I picked up the car that evening, and the bumper appeared to be fixed; however, when I got home and checked again, the clips had popped out once more. I returned to the service center and pointed out that the repair hadn't held. They took photos and said they would report the issue to Toyota. They got back to me during the week and scheduled an appointment for Monday, July 6th. I dropped the car off on that Monday, and on Thursday, I received a message stating the repairs were complete. I picked up the car Thursday evening, and the bumper looked fine. On Saturday, I inspected the bumper again; this time, the clips on the left side—under the headlight—had come loose. I reported the issue to the Toyota service center on Monday, and they promised to fix it as soon as possible. I am still waiting; it has been five weeks. I am completely dissatisfied with this car. I am lodging this complaint because, after researching online, I discovered that such problems are very common with the front bumpers of the 2026 Toyota Camry. Thank you.

When the vehicle is running and the gear is in "Park," a rattling noise comes from the front after about 15–16 minutes; this occurs the moment the engine switches back to hybrid mode following the initial warm-up phase. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The front seat assemblies in my 2026 Toyota Camry XSE have developed an abnormal creaking/popping movement and noise during normal use. The issue appears to involve the seat structure, frame, mounting mechanism, or related components underneath the front seats. The vehicle and affected seat components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My concern is that the abnormal popping/creaking and movement may indicate looseness or another problem within the seat structure or mounting system. Because the seat is an occupant-restraint-related component and is designed to remain securely positioned during normal driving and a collision, I am concerned about whether the seat would perform as intended in an emergency or crash. I have not experienced a crash or injury related to this issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealership for evaluation of the front-seat creaking/popping concern. The dealership was able to evaluate the concern and advised me that they were seeking authorization from Toyota regarding repair of the seats. I was subsequently asked to pick up the vehicle while they waited for Toyota's decision/authorization on how to proceed. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected/evaluated by an authorized Toyota dealership regarding the seat concern. To my knowledge, the vehicle itself has not been physically inspected by Toyota corporate/manufacturer representatives, police, or insurance representatives. The dealership has communicated with Toyota regarding authorization for the repair. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they

SUSPENSION
Some 2025 – 2026 model year Camry Hybrid SE and XSE vehicles may exhibit a knocking noise from the cushion of rear suspension member when turning or driving on an uneven road
ENGINE
Some 2025 — 2026 model year Camry HV vehicles may exhibit a MIL on condition with DTC P0A1B94(Drive Motor "A" Control Module Unexpected Operation) stored. The logic in the MG ECU has been modified to address this condition.
2026 model year Toyota vehicles are equipped with driver side floor mat retainers to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may also utilize retainers for passenger side and rear seat floor mats. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the appropriate Installation Procedure to attach the driver side, and if applicable, the passenger side and rear seatfloor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retainers.
During the manufacturing process, tires are mounted on the vehicle as matched sets to help reduce conditions such as pulling or drifting. If the wheels are replaced or refinished before vehicle delivery, it is important that the tires remain on the vehicle in the same location and in the same direction of rotation.
A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and service life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life.
