We had just exited the interstate when my Toyota Tundra stopped. We had it towed to the closest Toyota dealer. We had to have fuel pump replaced. They said the previous year Tundra was recalled for this issue, but ours was not. I just found out that some of the 2019 models had been recalled for this issue. They said my VIN was not recalled. That does not make sense. It was the same problem, same year, just at a different plant. Now we are having other fuel issues and the dealer says it all stems from the replacement of the pump, which we had to pay out of pocket. If we had not just exited the interstate it could have caused a major accident.

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while parked for 5-10 minutes, the contact noticed a burning plastic odor, and upon looking up moments later, the contact noticed flames coming from the driver's side headlight, and the flames were 6 inches above the headlight. The contact started extinguishing the fire with water bottles. The contact drove to a water hose, which the contact also used to extinguish the fire. The contact sustained minor smoke inhalation. No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V688000(Exterior Lighting, Electrical System), which included the VIN. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field inspector, who inspected the vehicle and informed the contact that the inspection report would be completed on the same day; however, the manufacturer would follow up with the contact within 45-60 days. The contact followed up with the manufacturer three days later and was provided with the same information. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,500.

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the engine sounded rough. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was turned off and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the ECU was reset; however, the failure reoccurred. The mechanic referenced NHTSA ID Number: 20V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

My toyota tundra is having issues with the fuel pump. It is saying I am using e85 fuel when that is not the case. As a result I am having issues with cold start. There are recalls however I am being told that my truck is listed among them despite having the same issue.

The contact owns 2019 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond immediately. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stalled, and approximately thirty seconds later the vehicle worked as intended. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced, and codes were in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I bought this car in January 2019, and even though it had 210 miles, they sold it to me as new. I think they did something illegal because I have the purchase contract and they didn't put that information there. They put 10 miles and I didn't notice at the time. Also, I have the window sticker and it says the car comes standard with a remote key for entry, and the dealer removed it to make it without one. I'm ashamed I didn't report this sooner. It must be a form of consumer theft, something they only do to protect themselves.

Intermittent message displaying "Trailer Brakes Disconnected" while towing. Trailer lights continued to operate even while message was displayed. On average trailer connected and disconnected every 2-3 minutes

Keep getting the messages "Trailer brake error, if towing come to a stop with manual controls" And "Pre-collision system malfunction" The messages go away usually after restarting the vehicle but eventually comes back on

Follow the procedures in this bulletin to remediate the odor and address this condition. The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to provide general guidelines and procedures for odor remediation. This Service Bulletin provides a guide on how to prepare and treat the interior of the vehicle for odor remediation. Refer to the applicable model and model year Repair Manual and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) website for the most up-to-date safety and precautionary guidelines.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Some customers may experience echoing on the line calling the vehicle when using Bluetooth Hands Free. This is caused by the phone Hands Free volume being too low.

The air conditioning dye injection tool kit has been developed to aid in identifying the location of air conditioning refrigerant leaks. The procedures outlined in this Service Bulletin aid in locating, inspecting, and repairing refrigerant leaks.
STRUCTURE:BODY
Acid rain results from rainwater or other airborne moisture that become acidic due to industrial chemical impurities in the atmosphere. If these acidic compounds settle on an exposed vehicle, especially the horizontal areas such as the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage to the painted surfaces can occur. Acid rain damage can typically be identified on vehicles by the presence of stains on the paint surface that resemble hard water spots. Unlike water spots however, acid rain damage cannot be removed by regular washing procedures. Also, because acid rain can etch and soften the paint, normal buffing or polishing repair procedures should not be attempted. This can cause further damage and result in visible depressions in the paint surface. The following are the three major categories of acid rain damage: •Minor damage: requires only buffing to repair. •Moderate damage: usually requires neutralizing, color sanding, and buffing. •Severe damage: extending beyond 1/2 mil of clearcoat on a pearl, metallic, or solid color, requires neutralization, sanding, and repainting. In cases where acid rain damage is minor, neutralization and buffing with a liquid-type paint finessing product may provide an adequate repair. Only specially formulated products outlined in this bulletin should be used for that purpose. Unfortunately, other than minor damage, there is no simple method of determining the actual extent (depth) of acid penetration other than color sanding a representative affected area until there is no visible etching or depressions, followed by measuring the amount of paint removed with either a magnetic or digital-type film thickness gauge. The procedures in this bulletin are intended for use by qualified body/paint technicians and should not be attempted by inexperienced personnel. It is the dealer’s responsibility to protect and maintain the quality of the vehicle’s paint finish after receipt at the dealership prior to the first sale. Perform frequent vehicle washing, as often as daily, during high heat and humidity periods to minimize the potential for paint damage due to acid rain exposure. This is especially important in geographical areas known for high frequency and concentration of acid rain and industrial fallout.
STRUCTURE:BODY
To prevent brake rotor rust from forming during transportation and storage, wheel film will be used instead of a cardboard type of anti-rust cover. The purpose of the wheel film is to shield the disc brake rotor from weather elements and initial rust before the vehicle is delivered to the customer. Consequently, the film should remain on the wheel for as long as possible.
STRUCTURE:BODY
The condition known as acid rain is caused by airborne chemicals or particles in the atmosphere, which mix with rainwater, nighttime dew, or high humidity to form acidic compounds. If these contaminants settle and remain on a painted vehicle surface, especially the horizonal areas of the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage can occur. This damage is the result of actual etching of the paint and appears as pitting or water spots. As acid rain droplets on the vehicle surface evaporate, the concentration strength of the acid increases, causing deeper and more rapid damage. This evaporation and corrosive action also occur more rapidly on dark colored cars as direct sun heat increases. It is the dealer’s responsibility to protect and maintain the quality of the vehicle’s paint finish after receipt at the dealership prior to the first sale. In areas known for high frequency and/or concentration of acid rain, frequent vehicle washing during high heat or humidity periods will minimize the potential for paint damage caused by acid rain. It is further recommended that either reverse osmosis or deionized water be used to prevent water spotting.
