The TCM is faulty. There is a tsb so Toyota is well aware of the issue. They will not take care of it under the power train warranty. The TCM doesn't shift the vehicle correctly. This lag and funny shifting almost caused an accident.

My 2024 tundra with 55000 miles suddenly lost all power going down a major highway. The engine failed suddenly. Luckily I didn’t wreck. I paid out of pocket to have it towed to dealership where it has sat untouched for 9 days. The engine is included in the recall that they have.

My 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, VIN [XXX], is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA06, Interim 25TB06, NHTSA Recall 25V322, concerning reverse lamps that may become inoperable. The recall was announced in May 2025, but a repair remedy has still not been made available for my vehicle. The truck is primarily used for family transportation, including trips and nighttime driving. I experienced a minor, low-speed property-damage incident while reversing in a poorly lit garage area. Visibility behind and beside the vehicle was limited, and the truck contacted a garage-door support column before the garage lighting came on. The incident caused minor cosmetic side damage. There were no injuries, no structural damage, no police report, and no insurance claim. I previously advised Toyota that I had experienced an issue related to the recall. Toyota opened Customer Experience Case [XXX]. Toyota offered to keep my truck at a dealership indefinitely and provide alternate transportation until a remedy became available, but it could not guarantee a comparable Tundra 1794 or provide an estimated repair date. Toyota later opened repurchase review Case [XXX]. I promptly provided the requested documentation, but despite repeated telephone and email follow-ups, Toyota has not provided a meaningful review timeline, vehicle inspection date, or final determination. My primary complaint to NHTSA is the extended period without an available safety remedy and the continuing risk to owners operating affected vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the adequacy and timeliness of Toyota’s recall remedy process for this defect. While driving my 2024 Toyota Tundra, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly experienced reduced engine power. I safely pulled over, shut the engine off, and restarted it. After restarting, the vehicle appeared to operate normally, but a diagnostic scan showed DTC P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire). On July 20, 2026, I brought the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealer for inspection. During the inspection, the dealer found significant metal shavings in the engine oil, indicating a possible internal engine failure. Based on these findings, the dealer instructed me not to drive the vehicle and retained it at the dealership because they considered it unsafe to operate. My vehicle is already included in Toyota’s engine recall related to engine manufacturing defects. However, despite the dealer confirming the presence of significant metal shavings and advising that the vehicle should not be driven, no repair or resolution has been provided. The dealer has been unable to provide an estimated repair timeline or when the vehicle will be returned to service. The vehicle is available for inspection. No crash or injuries occurred. Prior to the incident, there were no warning signs or abnormal symptoms. The check engine light and reduced engine power occurred suddenly while driving. The unexpected loss of engine power created a significant safety risk, particularly while driving at highway speeds or in traffic. I am also concerned that an apparent internal engine failure occurred with little or no warning. In addition, because the dealer has retained the vehicle and no rental or alternate transportation has been provided, I have been left without transportation while waiting for a resolution.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer on May 25, 2026, where it remained due to safety concerns. The contact was provided a loaner vehicle. The contact stated that upon verifying the condition of the vehicle on the Mobile App, the NHTSA website, and Carfax, no incomplete recall was displayed. The contact was concerned that the recall was marked as completed. The dealer was contacted and informed that the recall repair was not completed because the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

When returning home from vacation towing my travel trailer. A warning light came on that said pull over immediately you have lost all power. I pulled over immediately and definitely had lost power and was stuck on a mountain pass. I called for a tow which took 7 hours. I called Toyota during that time and they couldn't tow me home just to the nearest dealer. My family and I had to wait for 7 hours on a small turnout on the road it was very hot that day. I had my truck towed to my local Toyota dealer and they confirmed it was the engine with metal shavings in the oil pan. Towing costs were 1102.50 out of my pocket as Toyota would not cover.

I own a 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition with approximately 37,000 miles. On or about XXX, while driving, the vehicle displayed a “Check Engine” warning, “Reduced Engine Power” message, and the Pre-Collision System became disabled. The vehicle immediately became sluggish and lost power during acceleration. The loss of power created a safety concern because the truck was unable to accelerate normally when entering and crossing intersections. I did not feel safe continuing to drive the vehicle, especially while transporting my 9-year-old daughter. Due to the safety risk, I parked the vehicle and have not driven it since the warning first occurred. The warning lights remain active. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a Toyota dealer because I do not believe it is safe to drive to the dealership. I am requesting dealer evaluation and towing assistance. The component that failed is currently unknown. The vehicle is displaying a check engine light and reduced engine power condition. The condition can be inspected and diagnosed by Toyota. No crash, injury, or property damage occurred because I immediately stopped using the vehicle once the safety concern became apparent. I am submitting this complaint because a sudden reduction in engine power while driving creates a significant traffic safety hazard.

Some customers of 2022 – 2026 model year Tundra vehicles equipped with specifically non-hybridV35A-FTS engines may experience one or more of the following drivability related concerns: • Hesitation from a rolling stop. • Hesitation from a quick stop. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) logic has been modified to address these conditions.

Some 2022 – 2025 model year Tundra and Tundra Hybrid, and 2023 – 2025 model year Sequoia Hybrid vehicles may exhibit a high pitch whistling noise coming from one or both outer rear-view mirrors while driving 65 – 85 mph (105 – 137 km/h).
Some 2005 – 2026 Toyota vehicles that have undergone water intrusion may exhibit a condition in which a musty odor is present. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to remediate the odor and address this condition. The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to provide general guidelines and procedures for odor remediation. This Service Bulletin provides a guide on how to prepare and treat the interior of the vehicle for odor remediation. Refer to the applicable model and model year Repair Manual and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) website for the most up-to-date safety and precautionary guidelines.
