TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

ENGINE STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IN ADDITION, THE BATTERY VOLT GAUGE DROPS BELOW 13. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME I COME TO A RED LIGHT, BUT IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY ENOUGH. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to unlock radios that are Delco TheftLock. Technician will use the radio to get the scrambled code. Technician will need to contact the radio unlock center to retrieve the unlock code from the scrambled code. The PI update to version D is to advise the unlock procedure is temporarily unavailable. E version update is to add administrative details.
