TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN TRYING TO REFUEL, FUEL WOULD OVERFLOW ONTO THE GROUND DUE TO A FAULTY ROLL-OVER BALL. IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE MALFUNCTION, THE FUEL COULD ONLY BE DISPENSED DURING COOL WEATHER TEMPERATURES. TWO YEARS PRIOR, AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL TANK AND THE SIMILAR DEFECT RECURRED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. UPDATED 03/14/12*LJ UPDATED 03/23/12

DESIGN FLAW. E-BRAKE DRAGGING CONSTANTLY WHICH EVENTUALLY WARPS THE ROTOR AND IF LEFT ALONE MAKES A HORRIBLE CLUNKING NOISE THAT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DIFFERENTIAL SPIT A TOOTH. A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT'S HAPPENING BUT FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE CHEVROLET HASN'T FIGURED IT OUT. YES, OF COURSE THEY HAVE! IT'S JUST THAT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVEN'T DIED. *TR

THE CLUTCH PEDAL RETURN SPRING ON MY 2000 CAMARO SS BROKE TWO YEARS AGO. I PURCHASED ANOTHER ONE FROM A LOCAL GM DEALER. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE SPRING WAS SO EXPENSIVE. ($70.00). I INSTALLED THE SPRING MY SELF IN 2006 AND TWO YEARS LATER 2008 THE SPRING BROKE AGAIN. I ONLY DRIVE THE CAR IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. (26,000 KILOMETERS). I DO NOT ABUSE THE CAR IN ANY WAY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT. I THINK THAT A CLUTCH PEDAL RETURN SPRING SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN TWO YEARS AT $70 A POP. *TR

PURCHASED A 2000 CHEVY. CAMARO WITH ONLY 50K MILES TWO MONTHS AGO. THREE WEEKS AGO I WAS FINDING THAT IT WOULD NOT START RIGHT AWAY WHEN HOT AND MY GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. IF THE CAR WAS LEFT OVERNIGHT, IN THE MORNING IT WOULD START FINE. THE CAUSE IS A BAD FUEL PUMP, IT LOSES PRESSURE WHEN HOT BUT HERE IS THE REAL PROBLEM. THE PUMP AND SENDING UNIT IS IN THE GAS TANK AND I HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A GM UNIT, AFTER MARKET WOULD BE STUPID AND AS YOU READ ON YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY. THE FUEL PUMP IS $795.00, THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE REAR AXLE/SUSPENSION NEEDS TO COME OFF TO TAKE THE TANK OUT. THIS IS 5 HOURS OF WORK ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC. IT IS GOING TO COST OVER $1,100.00 TO CHANGE THIS PUMP. THERE IS NO SANE REASON WHY A FUEL PUMP SHOULD FAIL WITH ONLY 50K MILES ON THE CAR THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED, FACT IS THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER ONLY DROVE IT ONCE A MONTH AND HE IS 58 YEARS OLD SO HE DOES NOT ABUSE A CAR. *TR

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This Preliminary Information communicates to the dealer the process for downloading or updating operating software for the Tire Pressure Monitor, Active Fuel Injector tester, multi media tester, PICO Scope, GR8 starting/charging tester and Vehicle Data Recorder tools, giving website address and step by step instructions to complete the update.
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning blows warm air. Before calling General Motors Technical Assistance Center technician will need to have high and low pressures, outside temperature, humidity, and vent temperature.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Vehicle Wide Programming (VWP) is a new process to update software on GM Vehicles. It provides the ability via a single selection within Techline Connect to first identify which modules need updating and then proceed to updating affected modules (with some exceptions). The updating of modules is completed in parallel instead of the technician needing to update one module at a time. This allows a more streamlined approach for dealers and customers.
POWER TRAIN
GM is receiving damaged (cracked or broken) transmission cores returned to the reman facilities. The damage is being caused either in the removal process by the technician, or inadequate packaging or shipping. This bulletin advises the dealers to be more careful not to damage the transmissions during removal and to package the core properly for return.
ENGINE; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
This service bulletin advises of a new fuel injection cleaner kit used for decarbonizing the intake valves to correct conditions of rough idle, Crank no start, extended crank or misfire, MIL with DTCs, and explains how Top Tier fuels should be used to reduce carbon build-up.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
