The defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.
The risk: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3246.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Altec LR7 and LR8 aerial devices. The hydraulic cylinder feeder tube routed near the cylinder rest bracket may become damaged and leak oil, which can result in uncontrolled boom movement.
The risk: Uncontrolled movement of the boom can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will replace the cylinder rest pad and the feeder tube if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 22, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3142.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2004-2023 AT Series aerial devices. The cables in the engine compartment may contact the vehicle's hood, damaging the cables and causing a short circuit.
The risk: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Altec will inspect and relocate the cables and fuse blocks, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 8, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3142.

SUSPENSION

Altec has discovered that certain AT37/41/48 units on small duty Ford and Dodge chassis, built from December 2017 to May 2025 have the potential for the subbase mounting bolts to contact the chassis suspension components or SuperSpring®. This potential contact is not an impact to the safety of this unit.

STRUCTURE:BODY

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford Motor Company that certain 2017-2025 F-450 – F-600 Chassis Cab upfitted with an Aerial Bucket Second Unit Body (SUB) could have a condition related to the operation or customer satisfaction of the unit when equipped with an Altec aerial device. If the vehicle is upfitted with an Aerial Bucket Second Unit Body (SUB), the SUB may cause stress on the frame rail during use, which might lead to cracks in the frame rail.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Ford has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020 Model Year F-250 - F-550, 2021 Model Year F-250 - F-600, and 2022 Model Year F-250 - F-750 vehicles equipped with Altec equipment. Vehicle previously received a software update for safety recall 24S78, but may not have received the correct software to remedy the original concern in safety recall 24S78. The high-pressure fuel pump might fail, resulting in extended cranking without starting while the vehicle is parked or loss of motive power while driving. Before losing motive power, customers may experience a Check Engine Light (CEL), noise, and engine derate.

Altec has developed additional features and functionality for JEMS Connect. Features include Vehicle Status Indicators and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), both are accessed from Connect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SERVICE BRAKES

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from International that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety in certain vehicles that are equipped with Altec equipment. Towing variants of the Bendix electronic brake controller’s (EC80) Power Line Communication (PLC) functionality may incorrectly process certain signals. The EC80 may set a fault or stop operating or malfunction. Safety systems that depend on the ECU such as ATC, ABS, ESP, Active Cruise Control (ACC), and Collision mitigation (CMS) systems may have diminished or lost functionality increasing the risk of a crash.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Altec has learned that a 12-volt Airtronics relay installed in the PDM could have been manufactured to an insufficient threshold on certain units built from December 2004 to October 2022. This can cause the relay to overheat and fail, causing the accessory lights to stop working.
