The defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.
The risk: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.
The remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3246.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2004-2023 AT Series aerial devices. The cables in the engine compartment may contact the vehicle's hood, damaging the cables and causing a short circuit.
The risk: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Altec will inspect and relocate the cables and fuse blocks, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 8, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3142.

The defect: Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019-2022 AT335 vehicles. An inverter-powered outlet may have been installed at the aerial boom tip without ground-fault interrupter (GFCI) protection.
The risk: An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury or fire.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and install a GFCI outlet as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 25, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3091.

SUSPENSION

Altec has discovered that certain AT37/41/48 units on small duty Ford and Dodge chassis, built from December 2017 to May 2025 have the potential for the subbase mounting bolts to contact the chassis suspension components or SuperSpring®. This potential contact is not an impact to the safety of this unit.

STRUCTURE:BODY

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford Motor Company that certain 2017-2025 F-450 – F-600 Chassis Cab upfitted with an Aerial Bucket Second Unit Body (SUB) could have a condition related to the operation or customer satisfaction of the unit when equipped with an Altec aerial device. If the vehicle is upfitted with an Aerial Bucket Second Unit Body (SUB), the SUB may cause stress on the frame rail during use, which might lead to cracks in the frame rail.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Altec has learned that the under-body lights on certain DL, DM, AN, and L Series units built from May 2019 to April 2023 require updated wiring with a larger fuse to prevent a blown fuse during max amp draw.

Altec has developed additional features and functionality for JEMS Connect. Features include Vehicle Status Indicators and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), both are accessed from Connect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Altec has learned that a 12-volt Airtronics relay installed in the PDM could have been manufactured to an insufficient threshold on certain units built from December 2004 to October 2022. This can cause the relay to overheat and fail, causing the accessory lights to stop working.

Altec has learned that certain Altec units equipped with an AXIS telematics control unit (TCU) built from June 2018 to April 2024 could have a telematics system that is not operating properly. Customers paying for digital complements such as JEMS Connect or E-Series Derricks Insights may not receive data.
