TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 KEYSTONE FUZION RV. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT APPLIED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE WIRES WERE TOO LONG AND RUBBED AGAINST THE TIRES, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V651000 (SERVICE BRAKES,). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

NOTED THAT AFTER FIRST TRIP, TRAILER BRAKING WAS WEAK, REPORTED TO DEALER WHO STATED IT HAD TO BE MY TRUCK. ANOTHER TRIP AND LOST ALL BRAKES TO TRAILER, AGAIN TOLD IT WAS NOT THE TRAILER. UPON INSPECTING UNDER THE UNIT MYSELF I FOUND THE BRAKE WIRES COMPLETELY ABRADED THROUGH. THE WIRING FOR ELECTRIC BRAKES WAS ROUTED TOO CLOSE TO REAR SIDE OF TIRES. WHILE DRIVING, THE TIRES MADE CONTINUOUS CONTACT WITH TIRE AND WERE ABRADED THROUGH. THIS LEFT 2 OF THE 3 AXLES WITHOUT BRAKES. THE 3RD AXLE WAS WEARING THROUGH AND PICTURES ARE ATTACHED. NO UPGRADES OR CHANGES TO THE BRAKES SINCE PURCHASE HAVE OCCURRED, THIS IS HOW MANUFACTURER INSTALLED BRAKING SYSTEM AND COULD AFFECT MORE UNITS. THERE ARE PICTURES AVAILABLE BUT UNABLE TO UPLOAD THEM AT THIS TIME. THE ACTUAL MODEL IS 2017 FUZION MODEL 420. *TT *TR

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
