FUEL FROM REAR TANK OVERFLOWED TO FRONT TANK WHICH LEAKED OUT EXCESS FUEL. OCCURRED ONCE BEFORE REPAIRS. DID A SEARCH FOR THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SECRET OPEN WARRANTY COVERING THE ISSUE, CALLED FORD AND GOT 'PERMISSION' TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS WORSE ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT FRANK JACKSON IN SANDY SPRINGS GA. SO I HAD TO WAIT A COUPLE MORE DAYS TO GET THE NEW ONE. IT SEEMS FINE NOW. BUT HOW MANY MORE OF THE SENSORS OR WHATEVER IT'S CALLED ARE BAD THAT THEY HAVE IN STOCK TO REPLACE EXISTING FAULTY ONES? *TR

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
