My 2025 Hyundai Tucson required the front brake rotors to be resurfaced at approximately 12,200 miles. The Hyundai dealership diagnosed the rotors as overheated and warped, despite the brake pads being in good condition. The repair occurred before Hyundai issued Recall 302 (NHTSA Recall 26V-316). Hyundai Recall 302 identifies a defect in the Forward Collision-Avoidance (FCA) system’s front-camera software that can cause the FCA system to engage earlier than expected and potentially result in sudden braking. Hyundai’s FCA system is capable of automatically applying the brakes. I am concerned that premature or unintended brake application associated with this recalled software condition may have contributed to excessive brake heat and premature overheating/warping of my front rotors. I am NOT claiming that this causal relationship has been established. Rather, I am reporting a potential safety defect and asking NHTSA to evaluate whether there may be a relationship. The dealership confirmed that the rotors were overheated/warped but characterized the condition as wear and tear. Hyundai Motor America subsequently denied my reimbursement request on the same basis. I have repeatedly asked Hyundai to evaluate whether Recall 302 could have contributed to the brake condition, but Hyundai has not acknowledged or technically addressed this potential relationship. The original rotors are no longer available for inspection because they were resurfaced during the repair. The dealership performed and documented the diagnosis and repair. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the combination of premature rotor overheating/warping at only 12,200 miles and a subsequently identified FCA defect involving unexpected braking warrants investigation.

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) warning light was intermittently illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and attributed the issue to inclement weather. The contact stated that while stopped, the vehicle was rear-ended because the brake lights failed to illuminate. The contact sustained lower back and shoulder injuries, was transported by ambulance to the hospital, and required ongoing injection treatments. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and repaired for rear-end and passenger-side damages; however, the cause of the brake lights' failure was not determined. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop at a traffic light, the vehicle stalled and was struck on the front driver's side by another vehicle. The crash caused the vehicle to spin, and the front end detached. The air bags failed to deploy, and a system failure message was displayed. The contact sought medical attention the following day. The contact sustained a dislodged left thumb bone which required surgery, a cast, and injections for left arm pain, as well as shoulder, neck, hip, and aggravated lower back pain. A Police report was filed. The second failure had occurred at [XXX]. The vehicle was towed to the auto body shop at the dealer and repaired; however, neither the dealer nor the insurance adjuster determined the cause of the vehicle stalling. The contact associated the failure with an unknown recall notification. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was unknown. This is not the first situation NOR the first time it is being "fixed". I took my car in early March for an oil change and informed the representative about the same thing. The time that made me say something is when I was switching lanes and the car must have sensed me being close causing me to stop completely and the car behind me having to hard break and swerve. Rick Case Hyundai in Duluth, Georgia had my car for a MONTH, just for me to experience the same thing over 3 times since then. I received my car in April, and the recall for this wasn't put out until May. I am constantly scared for my life and the passengers I may have lives, as well as the other drivers lives, considering I got this car due to being in a rear end collision. When I took it in April, they CONSTANTLY, drove my car to diagnose it but kept telling me they didn't see the problem, and it wasn't coming up for them on their internal tracking system for their cars(webDCS). Once they finally talked to the CORPORATE field technician, they advised they replace the whole front bumper, including sensors, for the solution. But like stated before, since then I have experienced near crash stops AT LEAST 3 times since then, two of them being in the same month (July 16 and July 28). If this is the same solution, I don't see it being beneficial and I would like to be bought out at this point. Especially if I have to be without my car for a long period of time again.

I lease a 2025 Hyundai Tucson SEL. This vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and safety system malfunctions. Display/infotainment failure: The center display has shut off while driving on at least 10-15 separate occasions. This has occurred while I was actively using CarPlay for navigation in an unfamiliar area, causing loss of directions while driving. Forward collision/automatic emergency braking (AEB) malfunction: The AEB system engaged unexpectedly and unpredictably while I was driving on the highway, causing the vehicle to brake suddenly. This resulted in another vehicle rear-ending me. This occurred while I was driving home from a doctor's appointment. I understand this vehicle/system was subject to a manufacturer recall related to this issue. AEB failure to engage when needed: On a separate occasion, while I was backing out of a parking spot, the emergency braking system did not engage or respond when needed, and I narrowly avoided being struck (T-boned) by another vehicle. Warning system malfunction after repair: Following the highway incident, I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer, who performed a front safety system software update. Approximately two days later, while driving on the highway, a dashboard warning appeared related to the front safety system. This warning disabled cruise control and other related features. The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes independently activated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 60 MPH and the brake pedal was abnormally firm. The contact stated that the animals in the rear of the vehicle were thrown into the front seat of the vehicle. The contact stated that the seat warmer independently turned on, the touch screen activated and deactivated, and the oil change warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

The rear door locks and trunk lid do not always unlock. This creates a safety concern for rear passengers because they cannot easily exit the car because door won't unlock. The dealership says issue is intermittent yet it's still happening.

I bought my car in for recalls and they performed service. I got down the road when the HUD started going out over bumps. They could not duplicate it when I bought it back after picking it up. This was yesterday 7/16/26. They have had this car for a total of 18 days not including other issues that I have bought it in for. Today I am having issues with the instrument cluster and HUD going out randomly over bumps still. This is exactly what I explained when dropping it for the repair. This is resulting in me not being able to read the instrument cluster since it displays no signal on cluster or goes completely black.

Hyundai is extending the warranty coverage for the wiper motor crank arm nut under this condition to 10 years / 100,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use (whichever comes first) and is valid for original and subsequent owners.

Some Palisade (LX2), Tucson (NX4), and Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) vehicles may experience battery drain due to continuous operation of the cooling fan after vehicle ignition has been turned off, potentially resulting in a no-start condition. The continuous cooling fan operation is caused by a stuck relay in the engine room PCB block. This bulletin provides instructions to replace the engine room PCB block to ensure the proper operation of the cooling fan.
